This thread is for an alphabetical listing of any mechanical constructs you can possibly encounter in Ymaggion. If you wish for this list to be expanded, go suggest a creature in the Creature Suggestion thread. In ages past, the people of Ymaggion turned from the world of magic and abandoned the ways set by the Old Gods forsaking them and the demons of old. They turned their ways to the realm of science and technology, and swiftly, mankind progressed. Technology was lost during the cataclysm, but mankind had not forgotten science, nor had it forsaken it, and now, science co-exists alongside magic. Among mankind's many creations with science and technology are the construction of free-moving automatons, powered often by steam, electricity, or magic. Some of these mechs are under the control of sentients, while others are under the control of advanced A.I.. Most mechs seen today are created by engineers in Tsuminar and shipped out to the rest of the known world, while others are produced elsewhere. There are rumors of machines roaming the world, relics from the age of science before the cataclysm, proving to be extremely dangerous for anyone that comes across one. Dangers still exist for mankind around mechs, as A.I. can go Rampant, turning once-harmless machines into dangerous enemies that can easily overpower and kill a man. Many old machines have gone Rampant and yet retain their sanity, becoming far more intelligent than thought possible--however, such A.I. are incredibly rare, and thought to be a scientific myth.

A-B[/b] The Blind Harvester is a highly-maneuverable A.I.-controlled killing machine roughly the height of a man. Thought to be remnants of the age of science, Blind Harvesters employ a diverse selection of weaponry in battle, including a pair of variable firing-mode rifles, bayonets, scythes, claws, and a tail weapon. They are named for both the scythes they wield, and the fact that they do not employ any kind of true visual sensory. Instead, Blind Harvesters rely on highly-sophisticated motion sensors, and audio-output detection--it is also believed that they are capable of mapping out their location via an as of yet undetectable echolocation function, as they never seem to have difficulty maneuvering through tight quarters in the heat of battle. A Blind Harvester is an incredibly fast and agile opponent--it can outpace most men, and its mechanical nature ensures that it will never tire. Its armor is of an unknown alloy that is light and tough, able to deflect most small arms fire while on the move. This armor gives it lasting defense, as it can take quite a few direct hits from even armor-piercing rounds before it suffers a breach. Combined with its integrated weaponry and superior speed, a Blind Harvester could take on the greatest military special-ops force and come out on top. Blind Harvesters are powered through advanced electrical-generators that use an unusual chemical as a catalyst. This energy is distributed throughout the body of the Blind Harvester, allowing it to power its weapons. The drawback to this is the high heat signatures they generate, along with the luminescence created by the energized chemicals viewable in the containers location on its body in various locations. This technology is the only thing salvageable from the Blind Harvester, as when critically damaged, they self-destruct in a last-ditch effort to take out their assailants. Blind Harvesters are known to attack immediately upon encounter, leading scientists to believe that all Blind Harvesters have undergone Rampancy.[/ul]

C-D[/b] The U-240 Assault-class combat mech is a heavily-armored, bipedal anti-armor weapon for use in urban locations. Each Assault unit stands roughly forty feet in height, and weighs nearly eighty-five tons. Armored mainly in gray and black, rmored mainly in gray and black, the Assault walks on a pair of reverse-jointed legs utilizing powerful robotics. The cockpit is located on the jutting forward section of the main body, encased in a wide, slanted canopy folds upwards as a hatch to allow entry. The legs attach behind the cockpit on the main body. Attached to the right leg is an arm-mounted quadruple-barreled particle beam cannon, and attached to the left leg is a heavy missile launcher pod, equipped with six surface-to-surface/surface-to air missiles. Both arms can be aimed at individual targets. Attached to the main body on the right side is a communication antenna, and on the left side is a twin 20mm chain gun turret. This turret is mounted on a directional swivel and is loaded with armor-piercing rounds. To increase its combat effectiveness, each Assault unit has control over three A.I.-controlled recon drones. Similar in appearance to the Assault, each drone stands slightly higher than a man on a pair of reverse-jointed legs attached to a central body, and a sensor array is mounted on top of its body, at the back, with an optics unit installed at the front of the main body. These Recon drones are unarmed and lightly-armored, but can move at fast speeds. Their systems allow them to relay environmental and targeting data to the pilot of the controlling Assault. Combat Mech, "Quadwalker"The J-227 Quadwalker-class combat mech is a medium-armored quadrupedal anti-armor weapon for use in forested locations. Each Quadwalker unit has four identical leg lengths of fifteen feet, and a body height of thirteen feet. Armored mainly in green and black, the Quadwalker walks on four three-segmented limbs joined together to an undercarriage on the unit's main body. The cockpit juts forward on the front section just above the undercarriage, with a canopy that folds up to allow access. The power core is stored behind it, as well as the attachments for most of its armaments. Despite its moderate armor, the Quadwalker is heavily armed. A heavy-caliber 40mm machine cannon is mounted on either side of the main body, each mounted on a directional swivel and loaded with armor-piercing rounds. The two machine cannons can each target an individual target, or target one simultaneously. Mounted between the two on top of the Quadwalker's main body is a missile launcher turret loaded with three surface-to-surface/surface-to-air missiles. The turret has full 360-degree targeting. A sensor and targeting array is mounted beneath it, on either side of the canopy hatch. Finally, a slender pulse laser cannon is mounted on the undercarriage, beneath the cockpit and between the front legs. The Quadwalker can reach impressive speeds thanks to the advanced robotics in its four legs, allowing them to easily overtake other armors. To increase its combat effectiveness, each Quadwalker unit has control over three A.I.-controlled recon drones. Similar in appearance to the Quadwalker, each drone stands to the height of a man on four legs attached to a central body, and a sensor array is mounted on top of its body, at the back. These Recon drones are unarmed and lightly-armored, but can move at fast speeds. Their systems allow them to relay environmental and targeting data to the pilot of the controlling Quadwalker. Combat Mech, "Sandstorm"The D-105 Sandstorm-class combat mech is a light-armored bipedal anti-infantry weapon for use in desert locations. Each Sandstorm unit stands roughly twenty-five feet in height, and weighs close to thirty-five tons. Armored mainly in dull tan and brown, the Sandstorm walks in a pair of reverse-jointed legs utilizing powerful robotics. The limbs are specially sealed to prevent sand from getting inside to cause structural damage. The cockpit is located on the forward section of the main body, slanted nose-first at the ground, and is protected by a flat transparent canopy that leaves the sides open, preventing heat from building up within the cockpit. Special field emitters are installed on either side to prevent sand from getting into the cockpit through these openings. A communication array is mounted on either side of the cockpit. Above it, two micro-missile launchers are mounted on either side of the cockpit in the back, and on an angled platform above and behind it, a heavy-caliber 20mm chain gun. This chain gun is mounted on a direction swivel to allow it to track targets, and is loaded with anti-personnel ammunition to maximize damage against infantry. Combat Mech, "Striker"The U-122 Striker-class combat mech is a light-armored bipedal anti-infantry weapon for use in urban locations. Each Striker unit stands roughly thirty-two feet in height, and weighs close to thirty-five tons. Armored mainly in gray and black, the Striker walks on a pair of reverse-jointed legs utilizing powerful robotics. The cockpit is located on the forward section of the main body, encased in an oval canopy that acts as a hatch, and mounted on the top of the back is a communication and detection array. Mounted on the underside of the Striker mech, between the legs, is a heavy-caliber 20mm chain gun. This chain gun is mounted on a direction swivel to allow it to track targets, and is loaded with anti-personnel ammunition to maximize damage against infantry. Cyber DragonThe Cyber Dragon is the pinnacle of Tsuminar's robotics technology. Cyber Dragons were based off of real-world dragons today, as dragons are among the most ferocious beasts to have taken to the skies, but are mostly unwilling to work alongside sentient bipedals. As such, Tsuminar scientists set out to recreate these beasts in robotic form, and succeeded when they managed to reverse-engineer the chemical catalyst system used by Blind Harvesters. They use advanced propulsion systems powered by this system to sustain flight. Cyber Dragons are extremely dangerous machines, each one equipped with an Ultrathermal Flamestrike Projector that allows them to utilize flame as a weapon in the form of a beam, fireballs, or a spray. They also possess tough armor, immense strength due to their robotics, and razor-sharp claws. Cyber Dragons use advanced combat A.I. in battle to allow them to adapt to aerial and ground-based combat against both living and mechanical targets. Due to this, however, Rampancy and prove to be a danger, and as such, all Cyber Dragons are installed with a failsafe to neutralize their A.I. in the event of Rampancy. Also due to this, Cyber Dragons are not allowed free reign in battle, and are under the coordination of a control center to direct their strategy. Cyber FishA Cyber Fish is an automaton designed for underwater use. Cyber Fish are machines generally used for underwater exploration in areas that submarines or men alone cannot reasonably travel in. They are often equipped with advanced sensors for research purposes, and by extension, the military use them for reconnaissance. They are not equipped with any kind of weapon or means of defense, and must rely on their armor for defense against underwater predators that mistake them for something edible. They are a mainstay of the Aube military, and are the design basis for the Snake Head underwater attack drone. Dwarven ConstructorThe Dwarven Contructor is a pilotable mech, fifteen and a half feet in stature and weighing close to two tons, created to assist Dwarven Engineers in their tasks in hazardous environments. These machines are designed to contain one or two pilots within the partially-spherical cockpit mounted in the main body. A pair of tread-mounted legs are attached to the lower base of the Constructor, granting it a decent movement speed along flat surfaces. The legs are capable of bipedal walking over uneven terrain, and a pair of jump jets mounted on the back of the machine allows it to jump over short obstacles. A pair of large hydraulic manipulator arms are mounted on the front sides of the machine, on an adjustable track. This gives the Constructor a startling amount of articulation when carrying heavy objects. Secondary manipulator arms are located above and slightly behind the primary arms, which are notably weaker than the main arms, but designed to operate tools. Typically, these arms are controlled by the co-pilot, though controls can be switched between both pilots. The frame of the cockpit allows it to be opened up like a hatch for pilots to enter or disembark. While typically designed for the use of Dwarves, the Dwarven Constructor can be easily modified for use by other sentients. It is a known practice for Korin operatives to utilize Dwarven Constructors as anti-infantry weapons, though they are easily dwarfed by even the smallest of combat mechs, the U-122 Striker and the D-105 Sandstorm, in both size and combat functionality.[/ul]

M-N[/b] Mettaurs are small mechaniloids used in mining operations. Their small statures allow easy mass production, and thus they are seen deployed world-wide. Mettaurs are equipped with pickaxes for use in their given directive, but in case of danger, these pickaxes are equipped with the ability to fire energy bursts at threatening opponents. Though their offensive capability is meager, their defensive abilities are superb, due to the possibility of accidents on the work-site, making recovery of them manageable. The helmets that they are constructed with are extremely durable, and impenetrable against conventional weapons and most magic. When threatened, Mettaurs are capable of lowering their helmets to completely encase their bodies, making them virtually invincible.[/ul]

Q-R[/b] The RoadPaver is a heavily-armored construction mechaniloid designed for the full-scale maintenance of roadways in cities and on paved highways. The RoadPaver sits on a base carried by tank treads, and has a main body built on a swivel in its center. The central body is equipped with mechanical arms that allow it to cut away swathes of damaged asphalt and replace it with new asphalt. This is achieved through the use of a magic-generation machine that uses the Earth element to create its own asphalt for the machine to pour. The lower mechanical arms on its base can project curved plates of dense metal to form a hollow steamroller, which it can also use as an impromptu weapon against hostiles. When deployed in far-off highways, RoadPavers are equipped with a pair of machine guns and micro-missile launchers for self-defense, making them dangerous for brigands and highwaymen to encounter. The A.I., due to its purpose, is heavily structured to prevent Rampancy, as when out of control, a Rampant RoadPaver is extremely dangerous.[/ul]

S-T[/b] A Scout Rider is a small, pilotable mech that runs on a pair of reverse-jointed, hydraulic legs. They were created to be a viable alternative to long-distance travel in an environment unsuitable for horses and wyverns, and are often employed in deserts. These machines are simple in their design, and are equipped with a single automatic gun mounted on the front of their bodies. These mechs can run at speeds comparable to horses and wyverns, but are unsuited for combat on their own. Riders are suggested to arm themselves with weapons of their own when using a Scout Rider. ServbotServbots are small androids that are programmed to be servants and assistants to people. While short of stature and simplistic in design, Servbots are dependable workers that can be programmed to fulfill a variety of tasks. Their A.I. is luckily advanced enough for sentience, allowing them to develop personalities and adapt to their environment. Commonly seen helping about in company buildings and the homes of nobles and the wealthy. Snake HeadThe Snake Head is a modification to the already-common Cyber Fish. This mechaniloid is modified to serve as a defensive unit against seagoing and underwater enemies. The basic design of the Cyber Fish was upgraded to give it sturdier armor, a powerful jaw equipped with sharp teeth, additional fins and propulsion systems, and a power system that was based off of the chemical-catalyst system that was based off of the Blind Harvester. As such, the Snake Head, now resembling a creature comparable to a tiny Sea Serpent, is twice the size of a Cyber Fish and far more deadly. These machines are only deployed by the military against scuba-based infiltrators and small attack vessels such as hovercraft and patrol boats. Sniper JoeA Sniper Joe is an android designed for police and military deployment as strategic point defenders. They are armed with an arm cannon designed to fire small-scale particle beams, and are equipped with heavy shields with anti-beam coating layering the plate. While not the fastest machine available, Sniper Joes have high strength and excellent jumping capabilities. Their A.I. is highly structured and unable to adapt, as a precaution to prevent Rampancy from occurring. They are often stationed as guards at vaults and prison facilities. All Sniper Joes have excellent sniping capabilities and are capable of simple communication with other beings.[/ul]

W-X[/b] Worker Droids are simple mechaniloids designed as multi-purpose engineering tools. Roughly the size of a large Orc, the Worker Droid is a simple, circular body mounted with an optical communication array and positronic brain, and an anti-gravity unit to allow it to reach high places. Upon the circular main body of the Worker droid is a series of six mechanical manipulator arms that can be equipped with various pieces of equipment for construction or maintenance. Before beginning a duty, a Worker Droid is uploaded with the programming needed to complete its task, and is equipped with the proper tools. While not inherently dangerous, Worker Droids have been known to use bolt guns or cutting tools as simple measures of self-defense, thanks to a basic subroutine stored in their positronic brain.[/ul]
