Name: Kayt Sharidan
Alias: n/a
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Nationality: Aube
Appearance: Kayt is a lean and fairly tall woman, standing at five feet eight inches in height, and weighing in at a hundred and thirty three pounds. Because of her extensive duties serving the royal family of Aube keeping her within the Lythidonea Palace, Kayt has a pale complexion. She makes sure to stay in shape and has a lithe, athletic body, accentuated by a modest bust and slender hips. Her face is devoid of blemishes, and has slightly almond-shaped dark blue eyes, framed by high cheekbones and long, blue-black hair that falls down to the small of her back, the bangs parted on the right side of her head.
Kayt wears an official uniform with her position as the royal advisor for the royal family. The uniform is made up mostly of black leather, with a long-sleeved, gold-buttoned coat trimmed in red, and matching form-fitting black trousers. Also with it are soft, black leather boots that go up to below her knee, with the red-trimmed tops turned down, and long black gloves in the same style. Gold-plated buttons and latches are set into the turned-down hems and sides of the gloves and boots. Complimenting her uniform is an elegant red cloak, pinned at the left shoulder. The cloak was wide, white and blue-trimmed plates set over the shoulders, and a wide collar colored in red, black, and white colors, partially open in the front and turned down along the rest of its circumference. A matching red cap, similar to a beret, goes with the cloak, and the front of it is adorned with the national crest of Aube, a circle separated by a sinuous line, and the symbol of the royal family within it. A heavy gold medallion, also emblazoned with the crest, hangs around her neck, beneath the collar of her cloak.
Personality: Kayt is a soft-spoken, cool and collected woman, someone who rarely lets her emotions control her. She is known to be strict, and rarely puts up with nonsensical behavior from other people, especially her co-workers and subordinates. She possesses a shrewd and perceptive intellect, one that has allowed her to maneuver through many different political machinations. As such, she is very capable of helping others see several steps ahead in their goals, which is a major asset to the royal family she serves. Kayt has an inquisitive nature and a high penchant for knowledge. This combination allows her to easily study many different subjects and have no trouble retaining the information, which is also another beneficial quality for her occupation. She also has a strong sense of justice, and holds little tolerance to those who break the law and cause others to suffer, which causes her to act cold and harshly towards such people. As such, she often condemns Stamaria and the Korin alike for their practices.
Possessions: Being an accomplished spellcaster, Kayt has little use for weaponry, which she does not have the physique to properly wield anyway. The pendant she wears with her uniform has been enchanted to act as a secondary mana pool, allowing her to draw upon it and cast magic when she herself no longer has the mental fortitude to use her own, or when she is cut off from her own mana.
Special Abilities: Kayt is an extremely accomplished sorceress, often cited to be as skilled as many advanced Taron Magi. She has an affinity for the element of lightning, though typically she does not wield it in the usual fashions of generated bolts of energy, opting instead for compression and fielding methods that prove to be more effective, though it is more of a drain on her magical powers than regular lightning spells. She is also a practitioner of utilitarian magicks, employing such spells for scrying and searching, object levitation, physical enhancement, and mechanism unlocking. She is proficient in using magic on machinery and technology, which is a daunting and complicated task, but she is not the best in the field at it.
History: Kayt Sharidan was born into a wealthy upper-class family in a coastal city relatively close to the Lythidonea Palace, during the late summer months. Due to her family’s wealth, Kayt did not experience many hardships during her upbringing, having never had to experience what it was like to starve or suffer through poor conditions like many other families in the world. Kayt was a bit of a child prodigy growing up, possessing a high IQ and having a knack for easily learning things. Due to her inquisitive nature as a child and the encouragement of her tutors, Kayt spent her free time wandering her home city, learning about the various aspects of daily life for lower-class and middle-class people. Oftentimes, much to the chagrin of her parents and caretakers, the girl would try things for herself to better understand the concepts behind them and inadvertently gain an understanding about the people whom were less off than her own family. At the same time, these interactions often gave these common people are a new respect for the people of the higher class, though it was hardly enough to create a true understanding.
As Kayt approached her teenage years, it was discovered that she had the potential for magic, and was quickly taught how to harness and wield its power. Like with more mundane subjects, Kayt’s high intelligence and easy understanding of complex ideas allowed her to quickly develop her magical abilities, and it was not long before she discovered her affinity over elemental lightning. Over time, Kayt grew more and more skilled with the element, and was soon using it in unorthodox ways for offensive spells, much to the surprise of her tutors in magic. At the age of fifteen, Kayt and her family gained a new addition, in the form of a young orphan that had wandered into their midst. The child, a young girl named Krystal, was quickly taken in by the Sharidan family, going through the paperwork with the government to officially adopt the girl, and Kayt was appointed by her parents to watch over and take care of the girl.
It was at this point where Kayt’s learning would take a new turn. When Krystal had fully recovered from her time spent as a homeless orphan, she proved to be a vivacious child full of boundless energy and a knack for getting into mischief—and into trouble. Oftentimes, Kayt spent her time trailing after her adopted little sister, doing her best to keep her from breaking her neck through some stupid stunt, or by keeping her out of trouble with the local law enforcement. Soon enough, Kayt grew sick of trying to explain her sister out of trouble, and soon sought ways to curb disaster from striking. She used her great intellect to formulate plans and schemes against Krystal, doing what she could to make sure her sister stayed out of trouble before it could even began. These years growing up with her sister as Kayt entered adulthood and Krystal entered her teenage years were very informative for the young woman. Despite the differences in their personalities and all of the trouble Kayt went through, she and Krystal remained close as family.
As she entered adulthood, Kayt was soon on the lookout for opportunities to begin her career. Through a fortuitous coincidental meeting with royal officials, Kayt’s reputation from her childhood came to light and she was hired on by the government workers at the Lythidonea Palace, working in diplomacy and public relations. With her position, Kayt worked to strengthen the ties between the higher-class and lower-class people of Aube, and was often sent on diplomatic missions to Valtheran and other kingdoms in the Oceania Territories. Soon, at the age of twenty-two, Kayt had come under the watchful eye of the Queen, who kept track of the young woman’s work within the kingdom. After carefully testing the woman during the few chances she got to speak with her, the Queen had her husband raise Kayt to the position of Royal Advisor for her family. Though extremely surprised with the reward, Kayt happily accepted the position, and has been the appointed advisor for the Royal Family of Aube ever since.
