Name: Riul
Alias: The Light Child
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Nationality: Presumed - Zailleon
Appearance: Simply put, Riul is a small child. Standing at no more than four feet and eleven inches and weighing close to seventy-five pounds, Riul by no means carries a look of intimidation. Her long golden, almost white, hair drapes down her neck, descending as far as her shoulder blades. Partially obscured by her hair, Riul’s large eyes are almost a frighteningly real shade of sky blue and often described as having “moon-eyes.” Her neck is slender and her shoulders narrow, giving the starting grounds for the rest of her small frame.
While still far from adulthood, Riul’s body has begun to take the shape of an adolescent with a slim bust and slight hips. Despite this, though, her voice still carries the sound of a pre-pubescent boy or girl. Despite her small and unfinished stature, Riul’s body is relatively flawless. Her hands bear no signs of trauma or disfigurement as do her feet, and the rest of her body is unadorned by any scars or birthmarks.
Riul’s attire, while simple, is rather unique compared to the norm in Stamaria. Due to her being raised in the Temple of Light, Riul’s clothing consists of a white tunic, held at the waist by a gold-colored rope. As a caretaker of the Temple of Light, Riul’s toga indicates her status in the church with yet more white, draped from shoulder down to her opposite hip. If need be this article of clothing can be unclipped and used as a cloak, but this is rarely necessary. Riul wears a pair of tough caligae sandals strapped around her feet. (Reference Image)
Personality: Born into the life of a church, Riul has learned patience and holiness from birth. With inhuman kindness and clarity, Riul’s heart is purer than any person could naturally achieve, but this could very well prove a downfall to her character as well. While her experiences have brought her much wisdom, Riul has a tremendous sensitivity to all things dark, often bring her intense discouragement, depression, or even sickness. While her experiences in the Temple of Light have bred many incredible virtues into her character, she is still largely naïve to the world as a whole, having not experienced very much of it beyond the Stamarian Empire’s prosperity.
Possessions: Riul owns very little at this time except for the clothes she carries with her. Having no family, she carries no memorabilia of people she loves closest. While she is in search of them, she owns no artifacts of any kind, but she has several books concerning the locations of some that she intends to find.
Special Abilities:Riul’s abilities are based around light manipulation and control, allowing creation of shields and objects from light as well as more simple uses of detecting invisible foes or sensing darkness. Furthermore, while not as advanced as some of her other magic, Riul still retains a substantial ability at healing, removing curses, curing diseases, and the like. Some of her specific abilities beyond that are as follows:
History: Found as an infant on the steps to the cathedral known as the Temple of Light, Riul knew no family but that of the church. While she was taken in merely as an act of kindness by a priest, she soon proved herself to be much more than simply another child under the umbrella of the monks and priests. Before she could even read and write properly, Riul showed a tremendous heart of kindness and aptitude for the ways of the Temple. While often children in the Temple left at a young age into foster care or adoptive parents, Riul’s curiosity of the Light and its ways kept her constantly learning more and more underneath the monks there.
Growing up quickly and becoming a favorite of many of the monks and priests, Riul quickly began training under the ones who could teach her skill in magic, so that she could heal the sick and wounded when she became of age. It was as if she were born to do it, and in months she learned what took years to teach, and by the age of ten she was offered a tremendous honor of becoming a Taron Magi across the seas, starting into the adolescent league even as a child. While present with a choice, Riul quickly realized that the servants of the Temple would not let her turn this opportunity down; they felt it was their duty to service the Empire in providing the best they could from their order. Riul, however, felt differently about the matter.
When she was told her fate rested in no place but that of the Taron Citadel, Riul fled from her mentors and family. Having no home to flee to, though, Riul descended into the depths of the cathedral, taking step after step into further darkness. While it terrified her, the prospect of leaving the cathedral altogether frightened her even more.

Three years later, Riul returned. Much to the amazement of the monks and priests, her personality was yet more friendly and cheerful than ever. The light that she now carried was greater than ever, radiating even through her every action. What was more amazing, though, was her tremendous boost in magical capability. Even a short demonstration of what she was capable of concluded to those around her that she was now beyond teaching even by the Taron Magi standards. While some suggested presenting her to the Emperor himself, Riul had little excitement for such an idea and promptly left the cathedral altogether.
At the age of 13, Riul possesses one of the most extraordinary magical capabilities. Pure of heart but still young, she looks for her purpose with her newfound strength in magic and knowledge.

- The ability to bend light into shapes of animals and then make them into solid things with characteristics of an animal that is completely at Riul’s control
- The ability to redirect light in any way possible as long as there is a steady source
- Cloud Control. She has the ability to move their positions in the sky and harden them into a battleground if needed or shift them to allow more sunlight.
- The ability to both create mental blocks from light energy in her own mind, and pierce mental barriers in the minds of others. The blocks, however, do not always last forever and will break under heavy pressure.
- Beyond being immune to light attacks, she can also absorb them and change them into energy, mana, and stamina for herself
- Light can be gathered from the air or extracted from her own body to create beams of light that can deal damage to enemies similar to any other elemental bending and manipulation.
- Fusion with her light-animal creations to create a new being with different abilities
