Michael stood for a few moments, stock still in confusion as to the woman's words.
"Stay behind me."? Everything in his being screamed for him to ignore that command. Not because she was a woman, no he was not so foolish as to think women could not defend themselves. But he balked at the command because he was a Knight-Commander of the Blade, his sworn duty to protect others. It should be he at the forefront of any hostile action, his life was meant to be a shield so that others need not be hurt.
But then he heard her next words, something about a substance from her mouth. And he began to understand as she blew something from her mouth. The woman was a practitioner of magic, apparently the powder would harm him if he strayed into its path.
Michael nodded solemnly and followed the woman as she moved tentatively forward. His hand ready upon the hilt of Fidelis, prepared to draw it at the first sign of danger.
Moments later they heard a cry from farther down the wall of the temple. Michael forsook caution at the sound of someone in pain and dashed forward past the woman, Fidelis coming clear of its scabbard in one smooth motion. He soon came upon a man leaning against the wall, his breath labored and expression pained from a long vicious wound upon his face and chest.
Michael advanced cautiously, wary of the sudden appearance of yet another person. He scanned over the man carefully, something wasn't quite right about the entire situation.
Perhaps it's a trap. He thought suspiciously. But then he shook his head to clear it of those foreign thoughts. No, simply a man in pain. The invisible intruder must have harmed him on his way past. He halted and sheathed Fidelis, the blade sliding almost gladly back into the scabbard, as if thankful that it did not have to taint it's holy metal with blood.
"Sir, how severe are you injuries? I have aid nearby if they be dire enough. Did you see who did this to you?" In the back of his mind he thought quickly as to what the woman behind was doing. If this were a trap, then he was poorly positioned between two opponents and without his armor. Light be with me if these two are in concert He prayed silently, half-waiting to see what the others' would do.

Fabia noticed that he followed her as she stepped forward. When she said stay behind her she didn't mean exactly behind her, but just located behind her. She was glad though that he at least was doing was she said taking her warning into thought. He should be safe anyways if he just stayed behind her. She waited for any signs of any sort. She was mostly waiting for sounds of pain, crying or confused yelling, the most typical sounds that come from people when infected with her itching powder. There it was not much later after she blew out the powder a scream for help. She smiled thinking she got the so called ghost.
But just as the scream was made her mysterious friend behind her ran towards it. Her smile quickly turned into a frown. Didn't she tell him to stay behind? Some of the powder could still be lingering in the air before falling down and get him. Well if he gets infected from the powder it was too bad for him, she warned him. She casually walked back to the steps to retrieve her longsword. Holding it with her right hand. Then again casually walking where the scream came from. Nothing could have been done if she rushed, the person was obviously hit most likely. No point in rushing. She came upon what seemed to be an injured man with her new friend asking him general questions on his condition and who did this.
This was certainly interesting. Her powders do not create these kind of wounds. Plus the same ghost person could not ran away perfectly moments ago injured. That must means she infected an innocent bystander. But as innocent as it would seem somebody had to do this to him, perhaps it was their new ghost friend. This was turning very fun from their peaceful moments just not long ago she thought.
She inspected the wall the man leaned on and on the ground. There were traces of the yellow powder. The powder doesn't turn invisible right after its use. "Dont touch him. He's infected with my powder. She said to her new friend looking at him. "Doing so will only contaminate you. The powder spreads by air and touch." she warned him yet again. So she could tell this man was no doubt infected by it. There's no way he could not be after sitting in it. She turned her head back to the injured man."My my. I'm sorry, but it would seem you were hit by my itching powder. My powder doesn't cause these wounds. However If I were you, you should claw your hands into the dirt and restrain yourself from any scratching. If the powder comes in contact with your wounds you will feel a very immeasurable burning pain that will only get worse because of the instinct to scratch. The effects will last ten minutes I must ask that you wait until then for us to be able to assist you." she said calmly with a smile hoping to comfort him.
She looked over at other directions. If the person who did this was still nearby she couldn't hear him, ghost or no ghost. It would seem she would have to leave that mystery alone for now. But she looked back at the man and had an idea. The mystery wasn't over yet."Do you know what the person who did this to you looked like? For any money you have I will kill him for you." she said sweetly with a smile."Bounty hunter, assassin for hire, I don't mind what you call me. I am one of those people and proud of it." she finished yet again with another smile. She figured if this man was in pain enough he'd be willing to pay her. If he didn't have any money maybe he wants the pain to end. She took out her longsword from her sheathe and held the sheathe in her left hand."If you would like. I could end your pain with one blow, free of charge." She said with a sweet charming tone. She liked to help people out, but if the man was useless to her he might as well doubt. She considered him useless if he had no money or knowledge of the culprit besides if he didn't have those things he might very well choose death. She waited for a response.

Darklighter spoke, making sure his voice quivered as if he were in massive pain. "He... He shot me in the leg... Or at least, I think he shot me... And the he slashed me with a knife, and knocked me down... He said his name was 'Ghost'. I never actually saw him though... I think he was invisible..."
Darklighter groaned again, and rocked his head back against the wall. "Please don't kill me... Please don't kill me... I don't have much to spare... Please don't hurt me..."
Darklighter shook, and coughed up blood as he pleaded with the two people.
Fantastic plan, methinks.
"My name is Mason, by the way. I'm a soldier for a little group out north a ways... So please... Don't steal my gear..."
Darklighter slid his good leg in closer, and put his hand on the side of his boot, right where his concealed knife was hidden.
let's hope I don't need this...

Michael frowned momentarily, the entire situation was extremely odd in his view. He subtly backed a few steps away from the woman so as to be out of her sword-reach should she try anything. He then stared down at the man, who's name (if he was trust-worthy) was Mason.
He cocked his head to the side and stared coolly at the woman. "Milady, as much as I admire your pursuit of your trade, please do not attempt to frighten the man any more than he has been already with threats of death. No one need die today."
"This...ghost," Michael began cautiously, turning towards Mason once again, "He happened to tell you his name while attempting to kill you? How strange." He eyed the man, apparently some form of mercenary from a group in the north. "What unit are you with, Mason? I can contact them and let them know about this whole situation."

She made a "hmph" As soon as Mason said he didn't have much to spare. That meant either he wouldn't give anything or had nothing. But he did say one interesting piece of information. The ghost from earlier did this to him. But he said he didn't see the ghost, so the ghost was still invisible. What an interesting person to do this and stay hidden. First to show up, run away, attack a person then vanish without a trace. This ghost was turning to be more and more unique.
She sure would like to meet this ghost. She would like to know why he did this to the innocent bystander. She did feel somewhat bad for getting him in her powder. But for what reason did the ghost have to attack him? Plus she would like to know how he stayed hidden and attacked so quickly and quietly. She would like to learn such things as that. It could prove useful to her in the future.
She looked around the ground for the traces of powder. She could try and look for footsteps in the powder or powdered footsteps to follow. There wasn't much to go by as she inspected the area. She then realized she made a mistake in her words earlier."Oh, I do apologize Mason." She said turning back to him."This gentlemen over there is unable to touch you until the powders effect wears off. But I am able to assist you since I have an immunity to it. It slipped my mind. I can help you out and pick you up and bring you to the nearest village." She said with sincerity. She didn't know how she overlooked that.
It was probably due to the fact that her powder was used for stopping the people she wanted to kill. She didn't do anything for bystanders, it wears off so she lets them be. This man however was injured so there wasn't anything else but to do this and help out. She thought about the words of the man who has yet to give out his name. The man was frightened? Well she supposed any normal person would be in a situation like this.
There is also a possibility that the ghost threatened him not to tell any any information. She wouldn't be a very good bounty hunter unless she tried to exhaust all possibilities from situations. She came up with a way to deal with this. She would have to test it out and knew how to as well. "I'm going to breathe a healing powder. It will help your wounds. Please don't resist." she lied. She had no healing powder but it would be interesting to create that spell next. But there was the other man."You! Do you insist on never saying your name? Anyways don't breathe this please. It makes healthy people rather dizzy. Plus your condition is fine so I wouldn't want you to get caught up in some thingl." she lied once more. She just didnt want him to intervene with her plans.
She leaned in closer to Mason. Then breathed in and hoped Mason wouldn't resist her. She breathed out a pink powder and it spread out into the air. This pink powder was no healing powder, it was a pheromone powder. Its effects both genders funny enough. Those who breathe it in begin to feel attracted to Fabia, feelings could go from a attraction, crush, in love or even lust. The more a person breathed in the more they feel for her. But she found out those with these feelings find it difficult to refuse Fabias wish's which is who they like. If the ghost threatened Mason or if Mason was to scared to say she thought this was the best way to squeeze out information. If those weren't factors and he really dd know nothing then the feelings for her might make him focus less on the pain."Now please tell me who did this to you. How did you get these wounds? Is anybody after you? Do not be afraid please tel me I really want to help you" she said looking into his eyes. She wanted their eyes to meet that way her little trap could be more effective. She didn't want the nameless man to breathe it in, who could tell how he would react if he found out about the lie.

Darklighter saw the woman move in, and squirmed away as she spoke.
"Uh... no, Miss, I'll wait it out... I think I like the guy better..." Darklighter saw the woman try to use some kind of powdered spell. Quickly, he pulled out his boot knife and crawled away, toward the other man with the sword. "Please, sir... get this thing away from me... I don't trust her... the... the ghost said that there was someone else with him... I think he was trying to lead you into an ambush... I've heard of a small army mobilizing around here... guerilla soldiers... we need to watch out."
He gripped the slender stiletto blade, and curled up into a little ball at the man's feet. "Oh god oh god oh god... I don't want to die."
This is too easy... they don't even realize what they have found...

Michael stiffened and stood to his full height, placing one foot protectively in front of Mason. Fabia's odd behavior was quite off-setting, and he wasn't even quite sure of all the facts yet. But the man obviously didn't wish to be healed by Fabia's powder, and Michael couldn't fault him. They only had her word that it was healing powder and not some form of poison.
He held out a hand, his expression stern. "Lady Fabia, firstly I must ask you to refrain from using your magic upon this man. He does not wish for it and his wounds are not life-threatening." His expression then softened somewhat and he frowned in annoyance, "I apologize for not mentioning my name earlier. I am Michael Saint, Knight-Commander of the Blade."
He then waved his free hand at Mason in a calming gesture, "Mason, this woman will not harm you, I think. You are safe for now. It would seem you are a victim of some magic-wielding assassin. If the man is truly invisible, it would behoove us to get to safety as soon as possible. Can you walk, sir? Or do you wish me to carry you?"

Mason quickly resisted despite that she didn't want him to. What was with him? Most people would've just obeyed because they would like to get healed. Even though she wasn't really healing him, but its not like those two knew that. How could Mason not trust her? That wasn't a very solid proof of anything from what he said. But she felt irritated.
Mason moved away letting her powder hit the wall he once leaned on. Now curled up in a ball at Michael's feet. This guy was pathetic to her."Well that's it." she said showing her irritation in her voice."I tried to help but you don't want it. I've lost all interest in helping you. I just want you to continue your pain from my powder and your wounds." she said coldly. She was done with Mason but he was such a useless guy to her she lost all interest in this case. Her eyes showed a flare of anger.
She tied her sheathe so it hung around her back again. Then sheathing the sword back in."I don't do free jobs. I was only helping to find leads on this so called ghost. But now you've shown me something. Your completely useless to me Mason. So good bye." She began to turn around after she finished. Lifting her hand up like waving good bye and slowly walking back to the temple.

Darklighter laughed at the angry woman, and made several crude comments, with hopes of pissing her off more.
"What, your time of the month or something? Stupid bitch, you attack me, and refuse to clean up the mess you make... if my commander were here, he'd kick your ass." Darklighter laughed more, and watched as the woman left.
"So, Michael, is it? Head of the Order of the Blade? I've heard of you. I've actually worked..." Darklighter paused for a minute as he moved his injured leg. "... with some of your soldiers. A few years ago, back before I was with my current group. Oh, and by the way, My name isn't exactly Mason..." Darklighter forced himself up, and stood next to the tall man. He squirmed with pain as he tried to put weight on his bad leg.
"The name's Jericho. Jericho Lighter. Mason was a friend of mine, and his name was convenient. Oh, and by the way, this is gonna be really creepy..."
Darklighter's face and skin tone shifted back to normal. He cringed, and then removed one of his gloves, to check his skin color. "Perfect." He looked up, grinned and then leaned up close to Michael's ear, whispering.
"I haven't been entirely honest with you, Michael Saint, Knight-Commander of the Blade. You see, I have been hired to eliminate a very dangerous woman. That one, dressed like a low class whore, who just stormed off. We need to be careful here... She's after you, actually. She is an assassin, sent to seduce and kill you. Somebody, I don't know who, wants you dead. I, on the other hand, want Fabia dead, and you alive. We might be of use to each other sometime soon. I have word of a very dangerous swordsman coming soon, and I'll need all the help I can when that cold son of a bitch shows up again..."
Darklighter reached into his pocket, pulled out his balaclava and goggles, and covered his face. "So, feel like helping me here, or will I have to limp alone? That damned man, "The Ghost", is an old friend of mine... He's a psycho, and always trying to get in my way... but he won't stop me this time..."
Darklighter drew his combat knife and handgun. He checked the chamber, and tightened the silencer. He re-holstered the handgun and combat knife, and checked his other eight knives, hidden strategically around his body. Finally, he drew the compact .50 caliber rifle from his back, and loaded five long, fat rounds into the gun.
"Let's go for a hunt, shall we?"

Michael backed swiftly away from the new...threat? perhaps. He was unsure of who to trust at the moment. Both Fabia and this Jericho character seemed to have their own hidden purpose in being here. "And to think I simply wanted a peaceful time by an abandoned Temple..." He muttered darkly.
Now that he was several paces away from Lighter, he shook his head firmly. "Mr. Lighter, you are mistaken in assuming I am the leader of the Order, I am merely a Knight-Commander, not the Guild Master. Secondly, I have exactly zero reason to trust you right now, as you've already lied to me once, and for all I know, you could be lying again." he sighed wearily, he was tired of being lied to.
He waved his hand in the general direction Fabia had gone, back to their original meeting place, he surmised. "If this woman is truly out to kill me, then she is most welcome to try. I do not look for fights, but I do not back down from them either."
He raised a finger in concession, "However," he added softly. "I have no proof that what you say is true. You are wounded and in very little shape to fight her or this...ghostly partner you mentioned, I will be returning to my men soon, you are welcome to join me. I will not be aiding you in killing anyone unless they attack first. This Fire Temple has lost it's allure."
With a grimace he recalled that the quickest way to return to his men would take him directly past his original meeting place with Fabia, he kept one hand on the hilt of Fidelis and then began a slow, measured walk towards the path that would eventually lead him back to his convoy.

Fabia walked off slowly to the direction where she came from the temple. As she was leaving behind Mason and Michael, Mason began to laugh. Saying several rude things to her. She continued to slowly walk away but she listened to him, as she couldn't help it."My powders disappear after they lose effect, so I leave no traces and therefore no clean up." she said as she walked. She did love that fact about her powder its very useful in her jobs. "Commander? I don't have time to wait for your mother to show up." she said insulting him."Furthermore a man shouldn't let his mommy fight for him." she said hoping to belittle him. All her remarks she said loud enough so they could hear.
She then began to walk faster and soon out of the hearing and most likely seeing range from the two. She didn't bother. How dare he insult me. she thought. What a rude man. I like to help people but he was just awful. she said despising mason. Wait a second......he was rude and obnoxious. That's a totally different person from the crying scared persona he showed not long ago. She stopped walking. She began to grow suspicions on what was going on. It doesn't add up to me on how a sad injured person goes from weak in pain to acting like he just did. She turned around to where she left Mason and Michael.
She didn't like what Mason said, but something felt odd to her. She decided to check it out. She slowly and quietly decided to go back. If she walked back they would notice her. Still feeling something odd about Mason. She decided to crawl on the ground. The ground didn't feel good but she would have to deal with it. As much as she would dislike getting herself dirty. She slowly started to crawl back and stopped when she could hear them slightly but not see them. She couldn't hear anything though, it sounded like whispers.
So know they were covering what they were saying? She only distrusted Mason more, there was no need for whispering Then Michael began talking but he wasn't whispering she could hear him just fine. Mr lighter? who was that? Mason? He then said Mason lied to him, so she was right about something. What did Mason lie about though? Then she heard "this woman"? This woman? Would that be herself? Seeing as how she was the only woman nearby. Was mason framing her? Her dislike of Mason grew. She didn't want to hear the rest. Nobody talks bad about her without going unpunished. She will have to teach Mason a lesson. She slowly crawled backwards and quietly got up. Her clothes were dirty from crawling and she noticed her legs were a bit scratched up, but she didn't care. She will get back at Mason. She would have to aplogize for getting Machael mixed up in this if he could ever believe her. She breathed in deep and breathed out a white powder.
The powder turning into a cloud. Using magic she manipulated wind while swaying her hands in a fan like motion. This caused wind to slowly push the cloud of powder to Michael and Mason. Since the powder was white it would be slightly hard to see at first. She stopped breathing out powder. Then blew out another powder cloud, she continued breathing out more powder clouds and blowing them in different directions slowly over. This powder was sleep powder. The more breathed in the more it made you became drowzy then eventually you would fall asleep. She wanted them knocked out so she could get back at him without resistance. With whatever Mason told Michael, he wouldn't trust her sadly if she walked back.

His first mission, although distant and menial, was done. The skys were relatively clear, only a few clouds far apart, which left the sun unhampered. As Vulcan flew at cruising altitude, his HUD displayed his boss.
Now what is he doing there? Vulcan thought. Darklighter wasn't sceduled for a mission, or at least not that I know of. And he seems to be in trouble.
He activated camoflauge, and landed a good distance from Darklighter. Apparently, he was with some fancy knight of some sort, and some whore, who was at that moment casting some weird magic to envelop Darklighter and that buddy of his.
What has he gotten himself into? Vulcan sighed inwardly. I would hate to swtich jobs so quickly, and I'm not ready to move back *there* yet, so, minus well play hero...
The visual reality of what would be percieved normally was warped momentarily, and the rifle was raised. The gun's sight and manification was set directly to his visor, and multiplied by 5. The reticle was put directly at the woman's head. He pressed the trigger.

(OOC: Posting way F****** late...) Darklighter watched the woman move around the area, and finally, saw her wave her hands in some bizarre pattern. Fearful of whatever powdery witchcraft she was brewing, Darklighter took a deep breath, and then closed his mouth tightly, hoping to avoid breathing for as long as possible. Suddenly, he saw foot steps appear from nowhere.
Vulcan...
Darklighter smiled, and leaned back. A red flash shot across the sky, faster than any human could track. The laser made a black stain on the wall directly above him. He winced as he thought about the unlucky victim of the shot. Vulcan always was one hell of a deadeye... looks like his skills payed off once again....
"Well well well... looks like I didn't even have to waste a shot. Good shootin', boys. Let's get this one tagged and bagged, and get the hell out of here. Mk?" He looked over at Michael, and spoke forcefully. "I very nearly saved your life, you know... You're welcome."
Darklighter stood up, and leaned against the wall. "Vulcan... come give this old man a hand... I've been shot..." ___________________________________________ Meanwhile... Rain crouched in the shadows, just a few meters away from the action. He had his bow ready, with an arrow partially drawn. He barely let himself breath, and strictly regulated his heartbeat. His eyes were closed, and his lips pursed. His handgun hung heavily at his side, and his knife pressed against his leg. If it's a ghost they want, it's a ghost they'll get...

(First of I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous patience waiting for this post.)
Fabia contemplated on her actions after her spell. She really wanted to get Mason back but her emotions from earlier to abandon them both still lingered. Seeing as how she already started the spell she was far to deep in this mess just to leave. Now she had to choose what action she had to take. She started the spell as if it was instinct. She thought on how she would get back at Mason.
Then a thought came to her. She'll get him with a suprise attack. He'll be too pre-occupied with the powder, at least she hoped he would. She halted her spell than she let the clouds of powder move on their own. She circled her arms causing winds rushing around them. She pushed them forward which caused a gush of wind to push the clouds forward and pushed Fabia backwards in the air. Her plan was to push her back some distance while sending a distracting wind to Mason. Then with another push of wind, but behind her she would make a speedy leap and strike with her sword.
Fabia felt like a giant wind knocked her back but it was all controlled. As she jumped back something odd seemed to have moved infront of her like a strange light. She caught herself on the ground by stomping as she landed. She continued manipulating wind around her arm which was supposed to help her leap forward so she could move fast at a good distance and catch Mason off guard. She however walked forward to the area where she saw a strange movement. It was like a flicker of odd light. There on the ground she saw a black mark as if it was burnt. But there was nothing there moments ago. She would know since she walked by it earlier. Plus this was a fresh mark.
The wind stopped around her arms. She scowled as she looked at the mark on the ground. That was an attack aimed at her wasnt it? She had no idea what was going on and she hated it. She didnt like being kept out of the loop. Too many odd things have been going on today. She looked back at where Mason was. She didnt trust him and wanted to get him back, but for some reason something was telling her to pull back. She came here to look at the fire temple but today she found a new find. A very interesting sequence of events unfolded. She angrily stared at Masons direction. If she ever met him again she would set him straight one way or another. She felt as if it was best to get out of the area as fast as possible. She turned in the temple and began running. She'll backtrack the way she came from the temple. Until then the events today will be her personal mystery to solve at a later point in life.

In an instant, the entire area around Michael and Jericho was changed.
Out of the corner of his eye, Michael spotted Fabia, almost impossible to see in the nearby trees and bushes. She had blown some sort of powder towards Jericho and he, and had then sprang backwards using some sort of...he wasn't quite positive what it was, merely that it moved her backwards at a great speed.
At almost the same time she was moving backwards, he caught the briefest hint of some sort of energy weapon directed towards Fabia, which she had barely dodged by her sudden movement backwards.
Unsure of just about everyone around him, and almost positive he had somehow walked into a mercenary feud (he'd heard horrible tales about such conflicts from his brother), Michael chose the only course of action he could think of.
He backed away from Jericho, and nodded his head, "Mr. Lighter. As I said, I'm returning to my men now, you are welcome to come. Otherwise, I bid you good day, sir."
Without waiting to see what the other man's answer was, Michael veered away from the temple and began walking along the border of the trees that edged the clearing they were currently occupying. His only intention to get back to a group of individuals which he could trust.
