Now all that's left is the three Guardians. I guess they're running the show now that X is gone, but still. A Frog? Seriously? Anyway, since he's the same color, let's beat the shit out of Harpuia first. The stage for him is nowhere near complex. Just keep heading forward, and despite a few tricks, is really simple.
When you reach the end, you catch a glimpse of Elpizo stealing something and teleporting off.Harpuia lazily flies in and states he could care less about Elpizo and just wants to cut you up. Gee, we feel so special. He draws his blades and gets ready for round three.
Harpuia has learned two new tricks since his battles with us in MMZ1. First off is a dash attack that can deflect your attacks when in it, but has a limited distance. The second is calling down a bolt of lightning down from above. But really, these attacks barely factor in. Just keep it up with the Ice element and BAM!
Before departing, Harpuia states that he's got a giant man-crush on Zero. Um, thanks. Once that's over, it's revealed that Elpizo stole an IFF Radar, which allows one to disguise their life signature or some applied bullshit like that. Obviously he wants to be as stealthy as possible.
Next, let's go after Fefnir. ...Oh fuck you Fefnir. He decided to hold himself up in the Phoenix's' base. Asshole. The place is somewhat tricky with its platforming that involves lava, but it's not too much to handle. At the end, Elpizo is nowhere to be seen, and Fefnir makes his entrance.
You know how Fefnir is, he just wants to fight. Like Harpy up there, he's learned a couple new tricks. Mainly using his buster cannon. His fireballs can now turn into spread shots, which makes you time your jumps a bit better. Lightning-Gun and Lightning-Boomerang are fine tools here.
Last but no least is Leviathan. This mission puts you in a snow base filled with land mines. Dash Jump your way to victory! So yeah, you know the deal by now. Leviathan's' only new trick is that her ice ring extends farther. kick her ass with the Fire-Gun and Fire-Shield.
It's then revealed Elpizo stole pieces of a teleporter from the last two stages, and the man then sends the Resistance a personal message. He reveals he's gone into the deep depths of Neo Arcadia where even elites are forbidden to enter. He plans to unseal the Dark Elf and absorb it to gain ultimate power.
Luckily, X isn't totally useless and takes Elpizo on in a fight. Fuck yeah. After stunning Elpizo for a little, X urges Zero to go into Neo Arcadia and stop Elpizo from dooming the world. Zero agrees, but I gotta wonder, what if Elpizo does conquer the thing? World peace would be all the sweeter.
So on this new stage, it's really not much more than a straight pathway that you can get through easy with the Shield Boomerang. And at the end, we meet our old pal the Rainbow Devil! He's a bit faster than last time, but still no big deal. Once he's dead, we get to save unlike last time! Woo!

Alright, these next three stages can be pretty tough if you're not a bad enough dude, so tread lightly. They're the Temples of Fire, Ice, and Wind. Gee, take a wild guess who we're fighting here? But the first three don't count. As well, you'll wanna equip your elements accordingly.
The Temple of Fire is filled with lava and that puzzle where you have to shoot the exploding mechanaloids at cracks in walls. The Gun is your best friend here. At the end, you encounter, surprise, Fefnir. He explains how he has a mancrush on Zero and... promptly transforms into a Tank.
As you might expect, Fefnir's' main tactic is to shoot fire, bombs, and fire bombs at you in various patterns. The key here is the Spark Shot. Using it, you can destroy all of his guns and turn him into a total pussy. Once he's down, he runs away again. Seriously, have some dignity.
Temple of Ice is... underwhelming. No really, there's nothing really to note about this place, especially since it's such a short level as it is. Leviathan over there takes a note from Fefnir does the exact same things he did. Except she turns into a submarine. Now at first she seems tricky, but she's made easy through this.
She actually has a blind spot. That's right. On the ground near her face is a spot where none of her attacks can hit you, letting you just jump up and down shooting charged fire shots into her face until she dies. Talk about an oversight? Eh? Get it? Get it? Aah... Anyway, she runs away too.
Wind is really annoying. Not only is the platforming filled with annoyances, but there's alot of instant-kill spots that you wouldn't expect. This stage is also a place where you'll actually wanna use the Saber and Chain Rod. The Saber deals with the armored enemies and the Chain Rod can save you from falls.
At the end, we find that Elpizo actually beat the shit out of Harpuia. Hot damn. Elpizo shows off that he's already freed a piece of the Dark Elf(I guess she's a puzzle bot now) and that she'll fully awaken once X's' body is dealt with. In his leave, Elf-Pie-O has the Baby Elves take hold of Harpuia. Oh shit.
Harpuia orders you to destroy him and stop Elpizo's' genocide of the human race, and Zero agrees. The green warrior turns into a motherfucking birdplane ad begin his assault. I absolutely hate this bastard. Not only is he fast, but he hovers just out of reach of most attacks. Note:You can dash through his tornado attack.
However, here's the thing. The Ice-Saber becomes your best friend in this fight. The explosion that comes off a charged slash reach just enough when you're in the air to slap Harpy in the face and deal a good amount of damage to him. Once he's down, it's time to go after Elpizo in the deepest realms of Neo Arcadia.

This place is a breather compared to the Temple of Wind. Really, the stage part is just an excuse for you to fill up your Sub-Tanks and be prepared for the bosses. Each boss room has 3 teleporters. The first contains the Phoenix, the Polar Bear, and the Snake. Hilariously, they're made easier than before due to the arena. The next room has the Panther, the Frog, and... the Beetle Brothers, oh shit. Panther is made harder due to the stage not having walls, the Frog is made easier thanks to the stage being more enclosed, and the Beetle Bros are just plain tricky. Against them, abuse the Ice-Gun and Ice-Rang as much as you can. But after all that, we finally come upon the final area, having made it there just after Elpizo has. The former leader boasts about how under him, the world will become a place of great harmony. A paradise for Reploids everywhere, and the Dark Elf being the Supreme power. Zero actually plays smart and dashes in to try and stop the madman, but it's too late. Elpizo stabs X's' body in the vocal chords and brushes the body aside, unleashing the full might of the Dark Elf. After boasting about how he took out X, Elpizo absorbs the Dark Elf, giving him silver armor and the power of darkness. No way in hell am I letting him get away with stabbing X, no matter how awesome he may be. In honor of the Megaman before me, I limit myself to using the Z-Gun only. Which is actually a pretty good idea. Try to get in a sword fight with Elpizo? Bad idea. This guy is insane with the way he moves. After a fast-paced, admittedly fun battle, Elpizo laments once more; wonder why the hell he can't defeat Zero despite his new found abilities.Torn, he calls upon the Dark Elf again, this time fully fusing with it. This creates a giant beast similar to Seraph X in a few ways. You son of a... Know what Elpizo? Let's do this! This guy is alot easier than Seraph X, if only due to there being no pitfalls. However, don't let your guard down. He can teleport, summon spiked weaponry, and shoot a multitude of different lasers. And yet still in honor of Megaman X, I'm facing this down with nothing more than a Gun in my hands. After a a good shootout, Elpizo and the Dark Elf defuse; Leaving the Reploid badly damaged and the Elf purified. The Baby Elves flee like the cowards they are, and Elpizo, in his final breath, tells Zero how sorry he is that he let his ambitions and obsessions get the best of him. And the Dark Elf, now the Mother Elf, spares the Reploid by turning him into a Cyber Elf like her, and the two fly off together. X then appears, saying that the Mother Elf only became evil when a man named Weil inserted a virus into her. Zero, in a nice quip, says he knows the feeling, and the credits roll.

TIME FOR ZERO 3!
Firstly, the opening is a freaking SPOILER! Honestly, I know people should be smart enough to play the games in order, but why the holy hell do you have to outline the spoiler territories of the previous two games? I mean, what asshole would give a detailed report on every aspect of the plot? Tch,
So this game actually happens a mere two months after MMZ2, holy crap. Considering Zero can never catch a break, we're treated to seeing him escorting Ceil and a couple soldier through an icefield. Yes, an icefield. Apparently they're here to investigate a strange energy signal similar to the Dark Elf.
Already this game shows that it's graphically improved from even Zero 2. Its soundtrack isn't as popular, but the plot is far more famous, and you'll see why later. Anyway, after some enemy troops are detected, Zero says he'll run ahead and take care of 'em. Why does this sound familiar?
As we run forward--Oh god damnit game! You stuck us with only the Gun and Saber again! Fuck you! So anyway, we soon run into Harpuia, stating that a crisis is currently happening in the core of the snow base and that Zero should leave if he knows what's good for him. Harpuia even offers to let the Resistance live.
Zero goes for it at first, but then he feels a mysterious voice calling out to him that he just can't ignore. So, throwing out common judgment, we go inside to find that Levi and Fef fighting a gigantic Reploid warrior. They explain that his name is Omega, a Reploid banished from Neo Arcadia for being quite insane.
The two Guardians continue on with their pussy ways and retreat, leaving Zero to fight this guy on his own and... he's pathetic. Really, how the hell did those two combined lose to this guy? His pattern is predictable and the Charge-Shot makes quick work of him, so...?
Afterward, Harpuia appears and strikes right through the guy with a bolt of lightning, oh yeah. Omega begins to stagger, but then a new man comes in to hijack the plot. Dr. Weil, the guy mentioned in the previous game, He also teleports in with... Copy X!? Holy shit!
Speaking of which, Copy X got a makeover. Now he looks more like the original X that was sealed in the Dark Elf Shrine. As well, he now stutters sometimes when he talks. How suspicious... Harpuia quickly bows down despite this obviously being a trap, and Copy X states that Omega and Weil will be joining Neo Arcadia.
Harpuia, actually being smart, asks how X could possibly let them join up when the two were banished into space decades ago, but CX promptly says "Obey me!" and Harpuia does so. Copy challenges Zero to a race to see who can save the world first, and the three teleport out.
Zero, being kinda blown off by all that just happened, teleports back to base and HOLY CRAP THEY GOT ANOTHER BASE AGAIN! Where does the funding come from for these?! Anyway, Ceil explains that there's little time to rest, as not only is Neo Arcadia making moves, but more Dark Signatures are beginning to appear.
Before we get to those though, let's visit the weapons guy again and bitch him out. He says that he yet again tried to "upgrade" Zero's' weaponry, and forks over the Shield Boomerang and the... Recoil Rod. Yeah, they replaced that thing again. It's basically a pair of energy tonfas.
Granted, this thing is more useful than the Chain Rod, but it's still really underplayed. I miss the Triple Rod. I really do. Least this thing has its own original charge unlike the Chain Rod. But yeah, we'll be sticking to the Gun and Shield.

So before we start our first mission I'd like to explain some things. The way the Easy Mode of MMZ3 handles itself is rather... unique. You only get two sub-tanks, and are granted all of the Head and Foot Chips. Yes, including the best ones known as Quick Charge and Ultimate Foot.
Also, the Z-Saber was improved by a small bit. Firstly, it now actually looks like the Broad Sword it is in the art, rather than a yardstick. Plus, you can now do many tricks with it such as the Spin Slash, an Energy Wave, and a Rising Cut. It's still the most useless of the weapons, but hey, neat update.
Our first mission is to infiltrate an enemy base and destroy their security cameras, since apparently they can mass-produce weapons(work with it). While here, we're treated to our first door in Cyber Space, which equivalates to the real world but with a green overlay.
Now, whenever you're able to, it's a good idea to stay in Cyber Space as long as you can. This alternate realm holds a great many secrets, if a bit limited, so keep that in mind. In the middle of the stage we're treated to a beehive boss who cracks it shell open when it wants to attack.
Pretty simple, and nothing to worry about. At the end, we find a pompous douche who thinks he can take us. As a counter-measure, he transforms into a giant bat and shoots lightning. He can actually be pretty tricky, but the Boomerang and the Gun help out. For our trouble, we get the Thunder Chip and the Lightning Smash.
This EX-Skill allows you to do a Lightning-Charged downward stab from the air. Kinda neat, but it's not really needed. Element Chips are also treated as Body Chips, though they don't change Zero's' paint job. With our first mission done, it's time for a break.

Double feature happening' here now. Our first mission has us going to a Neo Arcadia Factory... because! No, seriously, even the Resistance doesn't know why they put the mission up. It's only AFTER they send Zero out that they find out the base is developing a warhead.
Anyway, at the end of this basic sucker we run into a dude that looks like a total psycho named Blazin' Flizard. I love this guy. Not only does he have a lisp, but his attacks are kinda creative and is probably has the best design of all the fire bosses in the Z-series. Anyway he's a total puss, he goes down easy.
For our reward, we get the Fire Chip. Yaaayy. Why the hell does Zero throw out the Element Chips after each game anyway? Next up is a water/ice boss. The mission has you following a signal similar to the Dark Elf, and you even run into her as soon as you enter the stage.
But wait, wasn't she purified at the end of Zero 2? This series needs to learn some damn continuity. Anyway, the boss(a rabbit) then shows up and challenges you to a race. Despite being water based, he decides to go into a sub and swim off. Ceil says there's a switch ahead to lower the water level, but fuck her.
Especially since we have the Ultimate Foot, which allows up to skip across water. Halfway through, the Dark Elf decides to sprinkle pixie dust on a random mook, turning it into a pussified version of the final boss from Zero 2. His pattern is very predictable, so no worries here.
At the very end, the Dark Elf has disappeared and you face off against the rabbit. Fire-Gun and Fire-Shield work nicely, especially since he's slow as shit. Did they slow him down from Normal Mode? I have no idea. For our trouble, we get the Ice Chip, woo.

One thing I forgot to mention in previous updates was that the Recoil Rod's' main function is that its charged shot can push or destroy heavy objects. This gets used in both the fire level and in the level we're about to go though, the Mantisk level. Once entered, you're informed the Fire Chip can burn the ivy. Duh.
Anyway, this level is really interesting since you can see that it was a big inspiration for stages in the next Megaman series game, Megaman ZX. Including sub-doors you can enter and explore with various weaponry. A ways in, you find the Baby Elves, you can do more than just mumble now. Fast learners.
They rush off to find their Mother, and Zero gives chase. He's too late though, as at the end of the stage the Baby Elves are stolen by the boss(a mantis), and given to Weil. Blast. Anyway, the following fight is really easy. He moves a bit fast, but it's nothing you can't handle.
Sadly, all it apparently takes to convince the Baby Elves to go to your side is say "I know your Mother.", since that's all it takes for them to agree to join Weil. Bastards. After that, we're treated to a scene where Harpuia pleads with his Master to reconsider Weil and Omega, since they can't be up to any good.
Copy X decides to be an asshole and brush Harpuia off, then putting Weil in charge of everything. It's so obvious Copy X is being controlled that it makes me wanna punch Weil all the harder.Later, we learn that the Dark Elf has taken shelter in a human populated area. Weil's' plan?
Launch a goddamned nuke on the area. What the hell man? No wonder this jackass was banished into space. Zero does what he can to rush in, but just as we get to the place, the missile takes off. Apparently, the missile is carrying Omega to the populace, so Zero hops on and rushes forth.
Oh right, for beating the Mantis we got the Light Chip, which ignores crumbling walk-ways. ANYWAY, we almost get to Omega when the damned Baby Elves get in the way.The two talk about how they know Zero from a century ago and call him a fake Reploid(Hi Wily) before deciding to pick a fight.
Even in Normal Mode, these two are pitiful. The only time they're remotely tricky is when they fuse, but even then they take double damage when in that form. Zero tries to get to Omega, but alas, the interference allows the missile to impact, killing all the humans in the area.
Omega climbs out from the rubble, then absorbing the Dark Elf. The Baby Elves, still being babies despite being a century old, cheer Omega on for some reason. The absorption gives Omega a golden form of... death, I guess. Harpuia then flies in, having absolute disgust filling him within.
We then get this badass line. "...We the Reploids of Neo Arcadia, swore to uphold peace by protecting all human life. If this what you call justice? Killing so many simply to grab one Cyber-Elf!? I won't have it!" He puts up a good fight, but is no match for Dark-Omega in the end.
Zero, probably amazed by how badass a puss like Harpuia can be, runs in and saves him, then teleporting back to base(hey, Harpuia helped him out in Zero 2). Back at base, the Resistance rushes Harpuia into a medical bed and start repairing him from the damages he suffered.
The base then gets a transmission from Neo Arcadia, Copy X and Weil ordering the Resistance to surrender. Ceil then gets an awesome moment when she refuses, saying that after seeing how much X has changed, allowing innocent humans to be killed, there's no way she can give in.
The transmission ends, and Zero says to leave the rest to him. Good timing, as Neo Arcadia is on the move and three more missions pop up; All three of the bosses being ones from Zero 1.We'll take on the Stantler first. Now be careful, I actually got lost in this stage. I dunno how it happened, but it did.
Also, Stantler literally hasn't changed from the first game. Just kill him the same way you did last time, and you'll be fine. The other two bosses are the flaming monkey and Anubis. Aww, what? No Lightning boss? Sheesh. Anyway, this is starting to get intense, ain't it?

I don't feel like doing a detailed report, so I'm making this quick. Anubis got both a downgrade and an upgrade in that his stage has flat land, but his wall-attack was replaced with a coffin. Hint: You can Wall Kick the coffin walls. Remember how we beat him last time? Yes... stabbing him in the shins with the Rod. As for Fire Monkey, this time he can break platforms and runs around a bit faster, but it's nothing you can't handle. Just beware of the angles he and dash in from. After those, the main location of Neo Arcadia is open for attack, meaning we get to face off with Copy X once more. Once in his Throne Room, Copy X pleads to Zero to switch sides, saying that the Resistance is nothing more than a bunch of Extremists. Zero calls him out on the bullshit, but the Copy doesn't care. It's time for round two on one of my favorite battle in the series. X fights exactly like he did last time, but he's got a small upgrade. First, he's a bit faster, second, he's now got an Overdrive Aura, and last, he can generate a forcefield. As well, much as I love the theme that plays, I think I've got some more fitting music for this battle: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nPQD0ARlNMStill, nothing too big, and after the fight, the real X appears and explains to Master X that he's been betrayed by Weil. Copy X laments that his life has been a giant lie up to now, but even so, he'll continue to fight for what he believes is right. Weil or no Weil to back him up. CX tries to go Seraph, only to find that a bomb was placed in his body, destroying him. I really feel sorry for the guy. In the end, he just wanted justice, and got used like a petty tool. Megaman X turns to Zero and tells him to remember it's the heart that matters, not the body, then flies off. Last up is a data-gathering mission. We get some info on the Dark Elf, Weil, Omega, and the Elf Wars, but it's not too important. At the end, we fight an Electric Eel who like to swim around and electrocute the water. Douche. Zero was apparently once known as the God of Destruction. Wonder how he got that title?

I'd make a detailed report, but I'm pressed for time, so I'll try and shorten it up. The other three bosses are a Bear...Wolf...Thing, a fat as crap Plant, and a Fox. Each one is Non-Elemental, Ice, and Fire, respectively. None of them are very hard thanks to my verastile build. Pure-strength is for chumps.
Anyway, once they're all dead you learn that Weil is trying to create more Baby Elves so he can, you guessed it, take over the world. We also learn about the Elf Wars and yadda yadda yadda, but it's just mumbo-jumbo that you don't need to care about. Now it's time to storm Neo Arcadia once more.
Speaking of which, you get some Chip from the bosses earlier, but the only useful one is the Body Chip that gives you Super Armor half the time. And in this stage, there's a special bonus you should be aware of. Get into Cyber-Space as soon as possible, and when you get to the floating platforms, go to the upper-left.
In the corner you'll find a hidden door that leads to a portal. And on the other side... Phantom! Phantom explains that Cyber-Space is the afterlife for Reploids, and that not only has he gotten stronger, but he's done a load of research on Zero's' past. Everything is online, afterall.
It's here that Phantom delivers my favorite line in the game. "You never had what it takes to be a hero, Zero." It's then that the long-awaited rematch starts, and Phantom wasn't kidding when he said he got stronger. Basically, take all his previous attacks and multiply them by 2.
The ninja also gained a new attack where he lays traps on the ground, and his speed has even increased since the first game. After a fun fight, Phantom says he was secretly testing you, and that you've proven yourself to be the Zero of legend. Normally, this is where Phantom would fork over the Ultimate Foot Chip.
The real boss at the end of this stage is... the Baby Elves. They haven't changed at all. Beat 'em down and move on. Why couldn't it've been Phantom? Would've been much more awesome. But ah well. Next time, we head deeper into Neo Arcadia to beat some extremists.

It doesn't take long for you to soon come face to face with Omega, now in his shiny golden armor. The battle here is just like the one at the beginning of the game, only a tiny bit faster paced. Omega gets ANGRY! And sadly we don't have a dome around so we're screwed on that part.
Fully using the Dark Elf, he becomes a giant that looks like it has Omega as the main body, and Copy X and Zero as arms. But I don't care, bear. It's time to summon all my might and... get the crap beat out of me. I seriously don't know what to suggest for beating this guy, seeing as his tactic is basically NUKE THE SCREEN.
Well, two Sub Tanks later, a large explosion leads to the area where Zero woke up in the first game. Fittingly, not only is it named Area 0, but it's also on fire. Huh, fancy that. And then, from the rubble, a new enemy appears. Shining like a star on a dark night, this demon has its eyes set on our hero.
Who else could it be but... Dark Red Zero. Wait, what? Weil appears and reveals the truth. The Zero we've been playing as is a fake. Hundreds of years ago, Weil ripped the Original Zero into two pieces. The Heart and Body. The Body was taken and upgraded with a new design, then given a new personality called Omega.
The Heart was put in a weaker Copy Body, then sealed away for no one to find. Omega Zero laughs with this info, calling himself the "Dark Messiah". Weil finds it fitting for both warriors. Megaman Zero, on the other hand, shakes it off and claims that he will fight, regardless.
And thus we come to our final battle. This guy is really fun and yet really easy when compared to his previous form. He can fire energy arcs, use a Double Charge Shot, create pillars of energy, the works. The fun thing about this fight is that it can be one in a multitude of ways. Yes, even the Saber can be handy here.
After the fight, Omega Zero calls upon the Dark Elf to heal him. Well, crap. However, he's interrupted by a familiar face. Yes it's Harpuia! And not just him, Fefnir and Leviathan too! The three ambush Omega and give Megaman Zero and opening to deal the final blow.
It's also at this time that the Dark Elf gets purified to her original form as the Mother Elf. Again(seriously guys, contuinity). To deal the final strike, you're forced to his the Z-Saber. Bleh. Well, after that's done, Zero tries to find Weil, but to no avail. Ceil says that Zero deserves a rest, but Copy Zero knows this battle isn't over yet. Afterall, we still have one more game to play through!

Megaman Zero 4 is... well, it's not a bad game, but considering the previous games had been building up to be better and better, this one is a major letdown. For example, some of the graphics actually lower in quality(good lord the new mugs for Zero and Ciel are ugly), and the Guardians are nowhere to be found.
The biggest dissapointment, however, has to be that there's no Shield Boomerang. That's right, it's gone. Now all you have are the Z-Gun, the Z-Saber, and a new weapon called the Z-Knuckle. This new gadget various in its usefulness. One one hand, it allows you to grip certain objects and steal weaponry.
On the other, most of the stolen weaponry are just for gimmicks(stealing shields is a good thing though) and the grip action, while helpful, is only really required in a couple certain stages. So if you run around with the Saber as your sub weapon, it'd be totally understandable.
Another interesting note is that this section only starts you off with one Easy Mode advantage; Two Sub Tanks. I guess the creators figured that this game was so easy that if you died more than 9 times you were pathetic. But hey, don't worry, the game is incredibly easy for the most part.
So your first mission is rescuing a truck full of humans from a Maverick raid(no joke). After you get done being horrified by Zero and Ciel's' new faces, you run into some humans who think Reploids are evil due to Weil taking Neo Arcadia. Yes, even though he's human.
Zero(thankfully) sees my point of view in saying "Well then fuck you if you don't want my help" and walks off. We also learn that, get this, the Resistance Base has been reduced to a trailer. No really, this has to be the most hilarious home base in the history of ever.
So next, you're set to investigate... something(I think Zero's' having trouble with his stock options or whatever), and you end up running through a very short stage that'll give you little trouble. You fight a mini-boss on the way. It's a giant laser. Anyone who's played any video game ever should be able to handle this.
Afterward, you get to fight the main boss. He's a giant mech that flies around in the background trying to shoot you. Unfortunetly for him, the room is full of platforms that you can use as shield. Take this guy out and an annoying robot-firebird shows up. Zero(rightfully) calls him a grunt.
But then of wait, every boss in the damned games arrives to kick Zero's' ass. Including a new military douchebag called Craft. He's so obviously a mercenary that all he needs is some stupidass insignia on his cape or wherever. Craft calls the attack off(tactics, comrades), and they all leave.
When you return to base, you find out a little girl with a bunny actually managed to create the ultimate Cyber Elf. Holy shit. Where was this chick three games ago!? Do you realise how much easier Zero's' life might've been had she been around?! So anyway, the little girl wants help naming it.
Thing is, you can't name it yourself. You have to chose from a list that all the other characters give you. I go to the tech guy because goddamnit, if he can't give me the Shield Boomerang, he can give me a Cyber Elf name. The Cyber Elf is hereby named Progress. Joy.
As well, it turns out the Elf is literally Easy Mode in an equippable form. I jack her levels way because, while this game isn't difficult, I wanna be an overpowered bastard. And what powerups you get! Added defense, health, power, speed, and the thing even fires off elemental shots as you move!
Oh speaking of which, I did forget to mention one other Easy Mode advantage at the beginning of the game; You get all the Upgrade Chips at the start. Nice. So, before we go off on our killing spree, it turns out eight bosses are available at the start this time, and you can even change the weather.
What's the point of that, you might ask? Changing the weather offers bonses in certain stages. For example, making it sunny in an ice stage causes all of the snow to melt. So next time, we're gonna take advantage of that and go after my favorite boss in this game; Fenrir Lunaedge.

Post by Evil McBadGuy on Oct 2, 2010 12:04:11 GMT -5
So in this stage, making it sunny causes all the snow to melt, revealing a secret pathway. Um, cool. I can't comment too much on the stage though since, even if there's a hidden doorway, it's still pretty straightforward. At the end we meet Fenrir, and man do I love his design.
He's an ice wolf that uses icicles for swords, has a variety of speed attacks, and even has a neat dash effect. So move over Blizzard Wolfgang, this guy means business. But that said, Progress helps make quick work of him. We don't get a reward(oddly enough), but hey, we won.
The next stage we go to is the stage of that pesky firebird we saw earlier. I don't remember his name, but then again, he isn't a memorable boss. I freaking hate this stage though. If you want what's probably the weakest advantage ever, make is snow before entering. Not really worth it though.
This is one of the few places in these games where I will absolutely forgive any mistakes made. Starting from the middle of this dreaded place are a bunch of hallways where blocks constantly fly around to try and crush you. If you're an impatient dumbass like me, welcome to your own personal Hell.
Well after getting through that travesty, we findout thatthe bird can't even fly. Good god that's pathetic. He also has a very predictable pattern, so you should have no trouble killing him. Zero makes a stupid quip and I save and shut off the game for now. Bah.

Next up on the list is the Tech Kraken stage(I think that's his name anyway). Our objective here is to dive underwater and get inside a drill to deactivate it before it gets done drilling into... something. Anyway, the first part of this is a timed mission, but just keep heading down and to the right, and you'll get there soon.
Inside you have to deal with lightning-rods and crawling enemies. There's also a mini-boss halfway through who becomes really easy if you're the jump-happy type. Farther in you get to the big guy himself. He reveals himself to be one of Phantom's' previous soldiers. Awesome.
The dude shows it too, seeing as he can open portals and whatnot, despite being water-themed. Anyway, after he's done, our next target is some giant... bull guy with an axe. His stage is simple and he himself is a simple boss. Nothing really to write home about. Although Zero does call him stupid.
Afterward, we learn that the human settlement near Area Zero is under attack. Your objective is to save the people and put out the flames. But seeing as I'm a jackass, I decide only to save the people and let their base burn to ash. By the way, you need the Z-Knuckle to get a fire extinguisher.
So how does Zzero get rewarded? Not only do the humans there berate him(ungrateful pricks) but Craft shows up. Craft... really isn't that tough. He might look buff, but most of his attacks are extremely easy to dodge. And just for fun, I like out-gunning him.
Afterward, he kidnaps the human leader, Neige. Of course you go to save her. The stage is very short, being nothing more than a giant air duct. You meet a boss, but he literally just sits there and does nothing while you kill him. Huh. I'm not sure if that's really smart or really stupid.
Once that's done, you catch up with Craft, and he and Neige reveal they're in love(ew). After Craft makes some disturbing hand gestures, he gives some spiel about how you'd have to have shit for brains in order to oppose Weil. The Big Man himself then arrives and taunts Zero.
Weil questions if Zero has the guts to kill a human, and Zero promptly replies "Yes". Neige then throws a flash grenade, letting for a quick gettaway. Ciel manages to teleport Neige to the base, but just as Zero is about to leave, the security system starts going haywire.
I actually really like this stage, because as you go the background evolves and shows how they really want Zero dead. You escape with no problem and teleport back to base. Instead of checking on Neige, the Resistance decides to get back to work. Okay then.

YOU FIGHT THE FOUR OTHER BOSSES BLAH BLAH BLAH. Okay, that isn't too fair of a summary, but they really aren't all too much to talk about. Granted, one stage has a kung-fu tutrtle that can use the Shoryuken, but still. Oh but wait! In the forest stage I found a third Sub-Tank! Yay.
So once they're all dead, Weil reveals that he's built a space station called Ragnarok and plans to fire its laser right on Area Zero where Neige and them are living. Craft interrupts this broadcast saying that he's taken control and plans to fire down on Neo Arcadia.
Hey, awesome. Some military punk finally being useful? Hell yeah! Apparently everyone else doesn't see how this is a good thing so they teleport Zero directly into Ragnarok. Speaking of which, where the hell did X go? Anyone know? Anybody... Bah, fine.
So when we get there, it's a straight shot directly to Craft, but just as you reach his door, Craft blasts the shit out of Neo Arcadia? You actually care for those living there? Worry not! The Resistance saved them all! What the hell is wrong with you people. So, let's go fight Craft.
Craft explains that now that he's in control of Ragnarok, he plans to destroy all humans, as they did nothing but build Reploids for war. He even wonders why Zero gives so much of a shit for Neo Arcadia. Wasn't he fighting them for two years straight? I agree with the second statement.
Zero explains that he fights for humanity because of the trust placed in him by X. Oh god damn you Zero. You know X is my weakness! Craft scoffs and the second fight again. Craft awesomely fails because this time the fighting space is wider, meaning more manuverability.
Craft goes kaboom and, rather than disable Ragnarok, the crew decides to leave it perfectly intact and floating in space. Gee, what could possibly go wrong? Zero and co celebrate a short lived victory, and somehow become surprised when Ragnarok starts blowing shit up again. Here we go...

So... ugh. Rather than beam back up there, the game gives up two lame excuses and basically just says "Fuck you dude, traverse two more stages first." Zero agrees, and the first stage is a giant teleporter pad that apparently survived being blown up. That's nice. But once you've traversed that, you have to go into a living circuit between the pad and the space station. Zero comments it's alot like Cyber Space. Which I guess he's right, although the place isn't filled with the color green. Once the simple minded boss is out of the way, you get to the core of Ragnarok. Once you get there, it only figures that the core of the place looks like a giant sword. Zero sets forth to destroy it, and, what a shock. Weil shows up. He reveals he cannot die, because the humans of long agoplaced him in a bio-suit that regenerates at a fast rate. Right before launching him into space. Weil tells Zero of his plan to destroy the world because they couldn't see his obvious genius of pushing the Virus into the Mother Elf and causing widescale genoside in the past. Oh and they banished him from Neo Arcadia. Those ungrateful bastards! Considering Zero has been standing there twiddling his thumbs, Weil fuses with the Ragnarok Core, becoming a full-blown Maverick-Reploid ready to battle. Now, this actually ends up being a pretty damn fun battle. Weil even has an attack where he revives previous Mavericks to attack you. Awesome. Now considering this is Weil, I don't think he should have that same old Boss Music as everyone else. I found something else more fitting for this kind of situation, especially since Weild can fly. Please, behold: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bUnYcNc6YQAnyway once that's over, Ragnarok breaks apart a little bit, but most of it is still plummeting toward Earth. Not good. Seeing as this situation is all too familiar, Zero tries to think of a solution, when from the ashes, Weil rises once more. This time, Weil fises with the entire goddamned station to take Zero out. And holy shit is this final boss music awesome. Seriously, go look it up. It's called "Falling Down". It's probably my favorite final boss music of the Megaman games. As well, get this. This is finally when the Z-Saber becomes useful. No, seriously. It's the best weapon against this guy! Weil attacks with a whole assortment of moves, but his most dangerous totally being his giant laser. You can avoid this by jumping up and grabbing onto his horn with the Z-Knuckle. As well, this is a timed mission, and the Z-Gun is far too slow to be effective here. Your best bet is to rush the core and slash like mad. When it's finally over, Zero sits down and accepts his fate. As things stand, there's no way he can make it back to Earth safely now that Ragnarok is breaking to bits and scraping the atmosphere. And with the destuction of Weil's' most dangerous weapon, comes the death of the world's' current Megaman. The Resistance and the humans of Area Zero honor Zero's' memory by promising to help make the world a better place, even if it takes hundreds of years. The credits sequence is actually pretty decent, but could be better. For one, it'd be loads better if it wasn't just Ceil angsting all over the ground. It could also use better music. I mean, you gave us the awesome of Falling Down, and now you give us this blah? Well screw you. I could choose asong at random and it'd be more fitting. Like so: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CY0pGGZZomMAnyway, for beating Easy Scenario, we get all the character cards, and a pretty badass wallpaper. There's still more to unlock, for all intents and purposes, this marks the end of my Text LP for this game. Hope you all enjoyed. I know I did. Peace out till next time!
