"Works for me." and with that simple answer, the two began to walk deeper into the cavern. They ran into some more bandits here and there, but for some strange reason, it seemed like the place was near empty. After some odd minutes Krystal began to get annoyed. "I'm started to get tired of all this walking. Any shortcuts around here?"

Now it was Joe's turn to roll his eyes. Even in the dim light, he turned to make sure she'd see it. "I have no clue, I was a little busy being held captive to get a good lay of the land." He replied evenly, his voice low and hard.
He'd been trying to take a somewhat stealthy approach to the situation, but if his rescuer didn't shut up and someone heard her...he wasn't in much shape for a fight. "Now kindly keep quiet, and keep moving. I don't know how many bandits there are around here, and I don't think either of us wants to find out." He snapped.

Jozin clearly didn't know the person he was snapping at.
"Oh well if yer gonna put it that way!" the girl replied instantly, soon kicking down a wall right next to her. "I think I would like to know how many bandits are here!"
Of course, the crash of rock would've been a nice toward anyone that something was up. And yet, it seemed no one even cared. "Ya see!?" Krys almost yelled. "Nobody cares about a raggety old place like this!"
She wasn't done. "Oh and you want me to keep moving? Fine. I'll just get around this place faster than you then!" Using her powers, she slammed the ground and torn open a hole in the earth, then hopped in. "Good luck, Hero!" and like that, she started to tunnel at somewhat impressive speeds. This must've been how she got her nickname back in Aube.

A bolt of magic cut through the air at the end of the tunnel as Krystal came out into another part of the mine--the mage was back, and he looked pissed. "You must be the one who gave us that car," he snarled, lifting up his hand to cast another spell. He was getting ready to seal Krystal's own magic, like he had with Laramie and Zandara before.

"You missed." Krys taunted as she got out of her hole. This guy was different from the others. A magician? How interesting. Still, just another guy for her to knock down. With a bored expression on her face, she did the 'c'mere' gesture.

Calhoun sneered at the girl's arrogance. Soon his spell completed, though, and the waves of magic swept about Krystal, sealing away her ability to use magic and making this fight that much easier for him. He readied more spells, letting loose with arcane bolts that shot through the tunnel at the woman.

Joe threw up his hands in exasperation as the woman used yet more magic and burrowed a tunnel through the ground and away from him, down the passageway.
Admittedly, he decided. He had been a little rude, but still...the woman had a temper apparently.
He slowly began to follow her, keeping close to the walls and using every trick in his book to move stealthily after her. "Do I attract temperamental female mages or something? I swear, the most normal of these women is the teenage empath." He muttered as he stalked after his would-be rescuer.
Moments later, he heard a crackling hiss, and the easily recognized voice of Calhoun the mage.
Right, exploding cars don't even phase this guy. Good to know.
The woman taunted Calhoun, and it seemed the two were about to get into a messy fight. Joe was close enough now, (and this section of the tunnels better lit) to make out the details. Calhoun had somehow gotten in front of them. Joe quickly seized upon a plan.
If Calhoun had gotten in front of them, it was likely there was another tunnel nearby that connected to the one they were standing in. Moving up to help the woman now would only put him next to her, in the line of fire, making it easy for Calhoun to neutralize them both.
Joe spun and ran, recalling a side-passage a few yards back. With skill and a little luck, Joe could hopefully come up behind Calhoun.
Assuming the woman could hold her own for a few minutes.
Assuming the tunnel connected in the way he hoped it did.
Assuming there weren't other bandits already on their way to the commotion.
To many assumptions, his brain warned him. But really, what else could he do?

While Calhoun was busy putting on his light show and chanting for more spells, Krystal promptly ran over and punched Calhoun in the face, knocking him out in one blow. "I'm not like you nerds with my face in the books all the time..." she bragged. Moving on, it would take a bit of time for the magic seal to wear off, but ah well. Now to find those other prisoners. That Joe guy was fine, she was sure.

Joe jogged on through the darkness, moving as swiftly as possible without giving himself away. Up ahead he saw a light coming from the right direction, hopefully a side-tunnel branching back to the one that at last he knew held the woman and Calhoun.
He paused at the lit side-tunnel and glanced around, making sure no bandits were coming before he moved from the relative safety of the darkened tunnel to the next.
Judging the area to be at least momentarily void of bandits, he dodged into the light and then headed down the next tunnel back towards Calhoun and the woman. Hoping to come up behind the mage and deal him a vicious blow with the blade he currently held.
It was only a few seconds later when he nearly ran straight into the woman. He came to a sudden stop and raised the blade instinctively, then lowered it again when he saw who it was.
"The mage dealt with?" He questioned.

Krystal simply pushed the man aside, giving him a cold shoulder. "Sorry, but I don't associate with insensitive creeps." And like that, she began to walk off, paying Jozin no mind at all.

Joe bit back an annoyed reply while he somewhat absent-mindedly confirmed his initial thoughts on the woman.
She's insane. He decided.
But insane or not, she was the only help he had at the moment. So it would be in his best interests to keep her around. And a nagging voice in the back of his head reminded him
Insane or not, she's Valtheran or Auben. She's a comrade-in-arms and you'd never leave a comrade behind
He grimaced, but also readily accepted that as fact. She was an ally, and no matter what else happened, he knew he'd try his best to make sure she got out alive, if it came down to his decision.
Joe shook his head in frustration, "Alright. I'm sorry. I snapped and it was rude of me." He apologized with sincerity. "I've been locked up for days and tortured, so my mood isn't exactly what you'd call pleasant. Would you kindly help me find my partner so we can get out of this infernal mine?"

The armored woman suddenly stopped short and stared at Joe for a moment. "Well that's more like it!" she cried happily and smacking the man on the back(that couldn't've felt good). "Let's get goin' partner!" And like that, she grabbed onto and started dragging along again. "Any idea where to go?"

He winced as she brought her hand hard down own his back, pain flared through just about every part of his body as his various injuries reminded him they were there.
He carefully pulled himself away from her grasp, hoping she wouldn't take it as an offense. But he really didn't want to get dragged around by the woman, who seemed to enjoy running everywhere.
He jogged along a few steps behind, "Keep heading down, the dungeons were lower than this." He replied quietly, making every attempt to keep his voice as low as possible.

The armor-clad girl kept her eyes open, though most of the place seemed the same to her. She noticed her teammate falling behind, so she slowed her pace a bit. It annoyed a little, but the setback was minor. "Ya know I don't see how you can be a good guide bein' all the way back there." The tone was a lighthearted one, even if it was a bit out of place.

Joe shook his head, "Yeah, a little slow right now. Nothing a day's worth of actual sleep won't cure." With those words he forced his bruised body to move faster, leading the woman deeper into the tunnels.
Alright, I really just find out her name. If we get into a fight...what am I going to do? shout "hey, woman!"?
He shook his head as a crazy image of some similar scene played through his head. It would be comical, even he admitted that. But it could be deadly as well.
"You have a name?" He questioned as they moved, still keeping to the shadows whenever he could, listening for movement from bandits or anything to hint at where Laramie and Zandara were.
