Name: Jordan DuValle
Alias: Lord DuValle; The White Devil of Stamaria
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Nationality: Stamaria
Appearance: DuValle has the appearance of a tall, muscular Stamarian standing at six feet, eleven inches, and weighing close to 234 pounds. His body is crisscrossed with scars gained from numerous sparring matches and live combat, though surprisingly none of them touch his face. His face is beginning to gain a weathered look, and his hair, parted on the left side, reaches down to his shoulder blades, and is kept in a ponytail held together with a white ribbon. His blue-gray eyes are often seen as cold as ice, and he rarely smiles.
DuValle’s uniform is unique among Stamarian military, reflective of his position as the greatest knight and the personal warrior of Emperor Stamarin. A black, gold-trimmed coat covers his chest and reaches down over his legs to his shins, which are covered in unadorned white pants. Gold crosses adorn each side of the black coat on each side, one smaller one on the torso and another one below the waist, and a metal clasp connects both sides of the coat near his throat. A second coat is worn over the black one, this one colored white with blue trim. The bottom hem of the second coat has blue spikes jutting up around the trim, each with a diamond-shaped ruby sewn into the tips. Oversized blue cuffs cover the wrists, both with gold trim crisscrossing over it around a large ruby sewn into it. Stiff layers of blue cloth are attached to the shoulders, displaying gold trim on the lower edge and dipping into a sharp V in the middle, with more rubies sewn above the V. Another layer of blue cloth lays over the back, this one displaying the Stamarian coat of arms in golden embroidery. His hands are covered by fingerless black gloves with gold-plated bracers over the wrists, and his feet are adorned with black boots with gold trim. A belt holding a large scabbard ties down the white coat over the black one.
When in the thick of battle, DuValle wears his personal set of full plate mail. Each plate is a layer of arcanite metal laid over a suit of Kevlar for reinforced protection against projectiles. The armor is worn over the pants and black coat of his uniform, leaving the lower portions of the coat exposed. Each plate is colored white with black and gold trim and designs, reinforcing DuValle’s infamous moniker as the White Devil of Stamaria. The breastplate displays the glaring eagle of Stamaria plated in black, holding a spherical ruby representing the world of Ymaggion within its talons. Overlapping plates on the pauldrons curve upwards into points, and diamond-shaped rubies are inlaid into the white-plated backs of the gauntlets’ hands. Another pair of rubies are inlaid into the plate boots in the armor protecting the knee. DuValle’s helmet is similarly plated in white and gold arcanite, with a heavy gold crest in the center of the forehead above the visor. The armor extends into a fin-like horn of white tipped in gold at the back of the helmet, with two more horns jutting out along the jaw line in outward directions.
Personality: Jordan DuValle is a stalwart personality, unyielding in battle and ever calm in every other aspect of life. He mostly keeps to himself, keeping a distant, professional manner around his forces. Despite possessing the highest rank in knighthood and considered the pinnacle of a warrior, DuValle believes that war should be used as a last resort when possible, and that strength without restraint is merely needless violence. He has a way with words, capable of charming or impressing even the most stubborn of men. In combat, his personality shows a confident, competitive side, and finds himself impressed when he comes across an opponent able to match him in skill and power.
Possessions: Being the top knight in the Stamaria armed forces, DuValle holds vast estates near Kallagulia, along with a title of nobility. He has collected numerous artifacts and souvenirs over the course of his career, and keeps most of them stored in his manor, including his original set of Kevlar plate mail, his first blade rifle, and the enchanted sword he was awarded upon attaining knighthood. His current armor was awarded to him when he ascended to his current position.
DuValle’s current weapon, the enchanted blade Flamereaver, is also a symbol of his station, awarded along with his armor. A large, two-handed weapon, Flamereaver has an impressive length of five feet from hilt to point, with a thick blade of mythril. The upper half of the double-edged is smooth, curving together into a sharp point, while the lower half sports a slight serration along either side, and along the middle on a flattened plate is a flowing script that reads “Where there is war, I shall be there.” The crossguard is short, extending little past the wide blade, and is plated in gold, with both ends curving up into points. The hilt is wrapped in a heat-resistant dragon hide leather. The weapon has numerous enchantments that make it one of the most dangerous weapons in existence, including a blazing flame emanating from the blade, and magicks that make it easier to use despite its size, and increasing the sharpness of its blade. Despite the heat and flame, Flamereaver, when held on DuValle’s back via a magnetic clasp, cannot harm his outfit, armor, or body. DuValle prefers to keep his blade in hand whenever he is on duty, ever ready to wield it in the service of Emperor Stamarin.
Special Abilities: As befitting his station, DuValle is an unparalleled warrior, holding a skill in melee combat and swordsmanship that few have matched and none save the Emperor has surpassed. He is also a proficient marksman just as any high-ranking officer. He is adept with magic, often using spells to augment and protect him in battle by reinforcing his armor with barriers, and manifesting unreal spiritual powers to strengthen his weaponry. DuValle is a skilled strategist and an even more proficient tactician, whose exploits on the battlefield, combined with his fearsome combat prowess has garnered him the alias of the White Devil.
History: Jordan DuValle was born to a commoner family in 73 S.R., an only child with few living relatives in a bustling down in northwestern Stamaria. He grew healthy and happy, though he had few friends, having grown up a bit of a loner. He was sixteen when Emperor Aurinar Stamarin returned to the Empire, and enlisted in the military shortly afterwards, having been inspired by a speech he witnessed personally. DuValle soon grew accustomed to military life, and climbed through the ranks. His fortune changed, however, when the Korin were established, as he survived one of the numerous blitzkrieg assaults that the Empire suffered at their hands. Only a trooper at the time, DuValle’s superior officer was killed in a surprise attack on the fort he was stationed at, leaving him unexpectedly in charge. Despite the odds, DuValle managed to turn the tide of the resulting battle and drive off the terrorists, and was awarded with a promotion to an officer ranking, and honorary nobility, much to the chagrin and irritation of the rest of the aristocracy.
It was at this point where he unknowingly came under the scrutiny of the Emperor, who watched his progress afterwards closely. Some say that it was this that lead to DuValle’s growing successes, and DuValle climbed the ranks, soon leading campaigns against the Empire’s enemies, both against enemy kingdoms and the growing Korin threat. Eventually, DuValle found himself in the position to prevent an attempt against the Imperial family, and personally held off an assassination attempt on the Emperor’s life. As a reward, Aurinar personally elevated him to knighthood, as a member of his entourage of bodyguards. DuValle humbly accepted this position, and it was this growing skill and humility that soon had him climb the ranks to the top knight, where he was awarded Flamereaver and his custom armor. Due to this position, DuValle became a confidant of the Emperor, privy to secrets that few among the Emperor’s peers ever learn, and in return Aurinar commands his utmost loyalty. He now accompanies Aurinar wherever he goes—it is whispered among the royal guard and the Korin that even when the Emperor appears to be alone, the White Devil is ever watchful, ready to protect the Emperor.
