Name: Vincent Treble Roth
Alias: The Collector
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Nationality: Newdamian
Appearance: Vincent stands at 6'0" tall and weighs in at around 165lbs (lightweight division). He looks like a fairly skinny young man, but he's actually pretty well toned beneath his loose clothing. His slightly larger than usual eyes are an unusual color for his family--a medium purple.
Roth is a pale individual, lighter than most Caucasian men in his area. He has long silver hair that hangs below his back, and he tends to wear matching clothes. He wears a top nigh identical to Luke Fon Fabre's only his is completely black on one side and utterly white on the opposite side, both sides have silver trim, and the two buttons on the jacket are made of purple gemstones. Everything he wears from the waist down seems to be modeled after the clothing of Kratos with the same silver on black color scheme; he even has a similar sword on his left hip.
Personality: Vincent is a pretty easygoing guy; very relaxed and usually in a pleasant mood. Unless he's perturbed or sad he will most likely be wearing a faint smile. He doesn't always take things seriously, and even when he does it rarely shows. He'll crack jokes in the heat of battle. Grin like an idiot when everything seems to be going downhill. Some times people think he's just dimwitted or immature, but really he's just a lighthearted optimist who sees little to no point in getting all worked up over things, unless it's something huge that could end the wold or something along those lines.
Mr. Roth loves combat. He likes watching it, studying it, and he is crazy about being in the middle of it. Swords, fists, axes, staffs, spells, and even some grappling, Vincent enjoys it all. He prefers to fight with a broadsword or katana or just hand-to-hand, but he'll take what he get.
The term hopeless romantic is rather perfect to describe the lovey side of Roth. When Vince sees a comely young woman who can really catch his eye he feels compelled to talk with her. If the girl should happen to catch his interest even more in conversation, well, he's pretty much done in. But, at the end of the day, it's all just a game. He loves being in love, thoroughly enjoys flirting, and is crazy about dating girls, but despite all that he never gets his heart broke--maybe because he always gets into it knowing that it can't last.
Possessions: On his person he always has what has been referred to as a wingpack, which is a small and magical pack a little larger than his hand that has a nigh limitless amount of space inside. Within he keeps currency, food, a first-aid kit, his sword (when necessary), and a blanket.
Special Abilities: Vince has some magic abilities; fairly basic. He can manipulate the elements, usually in accompaniment with a sword/martial arts technique. He can also use magic to increase his speed and/or strength momentarily.
His main power, however, is his uncanny memory and ability to mimic nearly any move he witnesses. Some argue that he simply has a photographic memory, but that doesn't account for him being able to execute high level arcane attacks with his sword after seeing them used only once or twice. Vincent has on many occasions been able to perfectly mimic an enemy's attack, but there are times when the copied technique is less than flawless. It remains to be seen is this ability is limited only to martial arts, arcane sword artes and et cetera.
This isn't so much an ability, but on occasion Vince has had dreams that tell the future, though 9 times out of 10 everything in them is symbolic, which makes it kind of hard for Roth to understand them.
History: Vincent Treble Roth was born to Cynthia & Darius Roth; he is the middle child of three boys. His father, Darius, is a wealthy man but not overly so. Darius owns a chain of successful inns called simply Roth Inn, so Vince has always lived rather comfortably. His younger brother by three years, Victor, has always been a pest, especially with Vince. Victor has always made jokes and played tricks on Vincent ever since he was intelligent enough to speak and strong enough to walk, hence his nickname: Jester. Virgil, the oldest of the three by 6-years, is a knight. Ever since he was a lad he dreamed of becoming a royal knight and protecting people from villains. But, despite his serious demeanor he always enjoyed spending time with his little brothers. For most of Vince's life he was very close with Virgil; they told each other things they couldn't tell anybody else. They played silly games when they were children, but as they got older and Virgil enlisted they grew farther and farther apart.
By the age of 13 Vincent had close to no relationship with his big brother, but that didn't mean he was without friends. A young Duchess who lived a block away had always been kind to him, and they often played together as toddlers. Then there was also their neighbor, Prof. Wilson, who would some times take Vince into his home and show him his latest experiment and dazzle him with chemicals, knowledge of mythology, and ancient objects he kept on shelves. Nevertheless, it just wasn't the same without Virgil. Only a couple years before, when Vincent was 11, he took up swordplay as a hobby, but in a few years time he was excelling beyond belief. His teacher, Master Yamaguchi, was astonished. He rarely had to show the young man a technique more then once before he could execute it flawlessly. His parents' reply was simple: "He's always had a great memory." But this did not satisfy the martial arts master. He began showing Vince more hand-to-hand combat, and then one day, when Vincent was 15, he decided it was time for him to learn the arcane artes. These techniques would require more than just an amazing memory, but magical abilities and great concentration. The lad didn't fail to disappoint. After witnessing one of the artes a single time and listening carefully to his Master's instruction Vincent was able to mimic the technique without any trouble. His training continued, and in the span of only a few short years Yamaguchi told him there was nothing more he could teach him.
With no reason to remain in Newdam and a desire to learn more techniques Vincent left home at the age of seventeen. The young man quickly made a name for himself, and ironically it was one that had already been given to him as a lad. As a young child Vincent had a tendency to collect the oddest things. Anything that caught his eye, whether it be a strangely shaped rock, a newly shed snake skin, or something more precious like a jewel that he stumbled upon, he brought it home and locked it away in a chest at the foot of his bed. His behavior as a boy caused his mother to nickname him "the collector", as she was the first one to peek inside his chest that was originally meant to hold toys. But, now that he was a young man and mimicking the attacks of all the fighters he watched and battled with, people started calling him The Collector, because with every fight he added at least one new skill to his collection of techniques.
It has been two years since the day he left home, and Mr. Roth's journey continues.
