Name: Mesia Dragonheart
Alias: n/a
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Nationality: Zailleon
Appearance: Mesia is a young and strikingly beautiful teenage girl approaching womanhood. Unlike her two older siblings, Kalia and Rua, Mesia takes more after her mother in her appearance. Due to a combination of age and genetics, Mesia is significantly shorter than her two siblings, standing at five feet, two inches in height, and weighs only a hundred and seventeen pounds. Her hair is wavy and a deep red color, and extends past her back, to a few inches below her shoulder blades. It is parted on the left side, and is brushed back over her ears, though some strands hang loose before it, framing a pretty face that’s almost always smiling, one with high cheekbones, slightly pouting lips, and bright blue eyes. Like Kalia and Rua, she keeps physically fit, but since she does not have much of an interest in fighting, she is not as strong as either of them. Though she loves the outdoors just as much as her brother, she spends more time indoors than either of her siblings, and as such hasn’t tanned as much as they have, giving her skin a creamier complexion. Her body is lithe and curvy, sporting a bust larger than most girls her age, though it is not close to the size of her older sister’s, a fact she is slightly jealous of.
Mesia has a number of flattering outfits she wears when she goes to the nearby towns, and often wears lighter clothing such as short-sleeved shirts, shorts, and skirts. She wears some jewelry, including a couple bejeweled rings on her fingers, a bracelet or two, a locket that belonged to her mother, and studded earrings. While working or playing outside, she wears a light purple vest over a sleeveless white shirt, with the vest held open, and cutoff jean shorts, socks, and hiking boots. Her favorite outfit for when she is out and about with her friends consists of a sleeveless black shirt beneath a soft, red vest with black trim, a short white skirt with a black wide belt hanging loose around her waist, black thigh-highs adorning her legs, and red and white sneakers. She may occasionally tie up her hair in various ways using ribbons of varying different colors.
Personality: Mesia is an extremely cheerful and energetic girl, always full of energy. She is attractive, intelligent and witty, and she knows it and takes full advantage of it. She is more approachable than her older brother, and as such she makes new friends more easily than either of her siblings, all of which she holds dear. Mesia is also a highly empathic person, able to intuitively understand the feelings of others, which goes along with her kind and loyal nature. She is slightly vain, preferring to look her best whenever possible, and has a keen fashion sense because of this. Occasionally, when just around Rua and/or Kalia, Mesia feels secure enough to act like the youngest child should: a little childishly. And, just like both of her siblings, Mesia is a stubborn person. She will hold true to her beliefs throughout all difficulties she faces, and comes out the better. However, because of this, tempers can flare and arguments occur easily in the Dragonheart household, thanks to the similar natures of both of her siblings.
Possessions: Mesia has numerous possessions, both with her and at her home in Zailleon. The title and deed to the house and property were left to the three of them in their parents’ will, and her own room still contains all of her belongings from her childhood.
Mesia, being very much a young teenage girl, carries her personal belongings in a purse she keeps on her when she travels. It includes her makeup kit, wallet, house keys, and other items. Also among them is a knife with a three-inch-long blade that she keeps for personal defense, at the insistence of her sister. At times, she may also sneak a light snack in the purse when she feels she can get away with it.
Special Abilities: Unlike her brother and sister, Mesia has little in the way of combat-related abilities. She has learned how to fight with a knife at Kalia’s instruction, and is fairly decent in its use. Like her siblings, she has learned how to hunt and survive out in the wild, though she mainly leaves the hunting to her brother. She has high magic potential, but has not had any formal training on how to use it, though she plans on learning as soon as she graduates from high school in the coming months.
History: Mesia Dragonheart was born in the year 87 S.R., to a family of four, having been blessed with two older siblings, Kalia and Rua. The girl grew up healthy and happily thanks to the love of her parents and siblings, both of whom took to the girl and gave her a stable upbringing, and the three grew close. Unlike her two elder siblings, Mesia was not overly interested in boyish activities, and took more after her mother than anything else. Despite this, Mesia inherited the same stubbornness that was present in Kalia and Rua, and oftentimes arguments would spring up between the three of them. Despite this, the children remained close to one another.
Though she wasn’t interested much in the adventures of swords and sorcery, Mesia grew a love of the outdoors like both Kalia and Rua, and when she was old enough, she often joined the two as they explored the region outside of their home. She took up interests in fabric and reading, and upon enrolling in school, she made a plethora of friends who she spent much time with, often spending the night at their homes when she could get her parents’ consent. She became interested in the plays the school sometimes held, and often participated in them in one form or another. As Kalia was apprenticed to become a knight, Mesia found the time she spent with her older sister diminish, but in return, found Rua spending more time with her, much to her delight. She was, however, unable to really get him truly interested in the girlish activities she often enjoyed. Like Kalia and Rua, she began learning the basics to hunting and surviving outdoors, though she couldn’t participate to the extent that her siblings did.
Upon reaching the age of eight, Mesia’s life was irrevocably turned upside down.
One evening during the autumn of 95 S.R., the Dragonheart family had taken a trip to the town housing the children’s schools, meaning to attend a play that Mesia had been cast in. The family of five first stopped by a restaurant for a nice dinner before they set off to the school that the two younger children were enrolled in. However, that night, a tragedy unfolded as the town came under attack by strange creatures of unknown origin—creatures that indiscriminately attacked the townsfolk present in the streets. Many people were killed in the sudden assault, but Stamarian militia quickly mobilized and retaliated against the monsters while calling for backup from the nearest Stamarian military facility. Their mobilization, however, came too late for the Dragonheart family, and the children watched as a gigantic, canine-like beast with four arms slaughtered their parents in the streets—a memory that seared itself into the minds of each Dragonheart child. While the creatures were driven off by the reinforcements, the beast that killed Russell and Via Dragonheart was not among the creatures that were slain. Due to the rising prevalence of terrorist attacks that had culminated with the founding of the Korin the previous year, Stamarian officials speculated that the attack may have been a new kind of terrorist attack in retaliation for the Holy Empire of Stamaria’s recent military victories. It was, however, unusual to see such attacks that deep into the Stamarian homeland, and as the investigation went on, no connection to the terrorist organization could be found.
For the surviving Dragonheart children, it meant that their lives had drastically changed. Until such time that they were fit to live on their own, the three were taken in by their relatives, who did their best to help them cope with the sudden loss. Mesia surprised her family by coping with the pain relatively easy, despite her young age. Though upset at what had happened, the girl spent more time worrying about her big brother more than herself, as Rua took the loss badly and had withdrawn from the family. She did her best to bring him out of his slump, and though she met with little success, she did not give up. In time, though, her brother recovered from his depression, and she happily helped him adjust to life without their parents—and finally gave herself a chance to grieve. She returned to school with her brother, while Kalia signed up for the Stamarian military to follow her own path in life and complete her apprenticeship. Due to Kalia’s occupation, the family was able to afford living on their own, and the three of them moved back in to the home that their parents had owned, finally able to inherit what was left to them.
Mesia continued her studies at school, often going shopping with friends when she wasn’t accompanying her brother on his numerous ventures into the wilderness in search of sellable treasure. When Kalia could stay at their place, she learned to take care of the wyvern that the knight had acquired. Thanks to her sister, she learned that both she and Rua also had magical potential, and Mesia took an interest in developing her own power, and her current studies reflect that as she is considering enrolling in a magic academy somewhere in Stamaria upon graduation. Until then, she takes care of the home when she is not hanging out with her friends or working as a waitress in the nearest town. She occasionally joins her brother when he goes out to less dangerous areas when he searches for things to sell, giving the two time to catch up on each other’s lives.
