By the time the bandits had retrieved Laramie from the shack, both Joe and Zandara were being restrained using magic binds that Calhoun had conjured up--glowing strands of energy were wrapped around their wrists and ankles.
The bandit dragging Laramie shoved her to the ground none too gently next to the other two, and Calhoun worked his magic again--he sealed away Laramie's magic like he had Zandara, and then conjured up magic binds around her limbs as well.
"That was real cute of you, kids," the bandit sneered as he guided his horse up to them. "Glad to see some of you pathetic wretches have some sort of backbone."
Chuckles could be heard throughout the rest of the bandits, but the leader was speaking again.
"Just remember that the next time you try it, I'll shoot you all myself. Prisoners are valuable, but not valuable. You've been warned."
He turned back to his men and shouted commands. "Gather their belongings and take them back to the packhorses!" he barked at them, rousing them to action. "Make sure none of them can move! Calhoun, let me know if either of the magic-using wenches try anything. If they do, I'll have their tongues cut out of their damn mouths. Now get moving!"
The bandits jumped forward to fulfill their leader's commands, and quickly hauled the three prisoners up to throw them over their shoulders. The pack horses were a ways off, with the remaining bandits that the leader hadn't brought with them.
