This thread is for an alphabetical listing of any unusual plants you can possibly encounter in Ymaggion. If you wish for this list to be expanded, go suggest a creature in the Creature Suggestion thread.
Magic can cause unusual things in a world as it permeates throughout it and all living things that dwell upon it. Men further their society with it and combine it with technology, animals evolve in fantastic ways, and the world begins to change. The plant-life that co-exists with the men and the animals is no different, and they too have evolved in unusual and bewildering ways, some becoming in ways just as complex and as animals.

The Alura Une is the pinnacle in an Une's life cycle, a massive flowering creature. Outside the borders of cities, in the wilderness of the kingdoms, life can quickly become violent. In times of battle in forests, spilled blood will seep into the ground and is absorbed by any Unes that have seeded in the soil. When an Une absorbs enough blood into its vines, it begins to grow into a massive, blooming white-petaled rose. Numerous bell-flower tipped vines can grow from its base, and even more vines flourish beneath the soil all around it, but the most unusual trait of the Alura Une is the fact that its manifested what appears to be a nude young woman within the center of the flower itself, exposed from the middle of the thighs up and having a pale complexion and long, reddish-pink hair. Even further strange is the Alura Une's capacity for intelligence and speech, though to be a result of the DNA it has absorbed from the blood it has fed on. Alura Unes, despite their exotic appearances, are incredibly powerful plants. Their root vines retain the Une's poison and can jut from the surface, as well as spear upwards to impale hapless creatures. Their most dangerous capability lies in the bellflower vines they use as appendages, as they can strike extremely hard blows with them. Some Alura Unes can generate smaller roses, and will use them as projectiles against predators. When one such flower pierces something's flesh, it begins to fill with blood until it bursts. If blood is spilled around an Alura Une, the petals of her flower will slowly darken to red as she absorbs the blood. The intelligence of the Alura Une gives her the ability to understand words, and should they come under continuous nonviolent contact with sentients, they can learn to communicate with people, exhibiting a child-like personality in the process. Alura Unes that live in remote locations, such as the jungles and rainforests of Zailleon and Cher Plek, however, tend to attack all creatures that threaten them without making attempts to communicate with them.
The Bulab is an extremely common plant that grows nearly everywhere in the world, restricted only by cold climates. These plants grow on thick vines and produce numerous bulbs along their length. During the day, the bulbs on Bulab plants open up and begin absorbing vast amounts of solar energy, initiating a process that converts it into mana. As they gather energy, the conversion process causes a bioluminescence to occur throughout the plant, giving off a bright yellow-white glow that persists through the night after the bulbs close up. Bulabs are favorites among apothecaries and mages, due to their conversion process. Animals can feed on the plants to restore their own mana reserves, and the plants are often used as components for mana restoratives and food. Others use these plants for aesthetic purposes by having them grow around certain structures.

Dryads are long-lived nature spirits that inhabit large forests of all types. These beings look like green-skinned women with leaf-like patterns in their skin, flowing green hair similar to grass, and have growths of wooden bark covering their breaths, waists and lower torsos, forearms, and lower legs. Dryads are peaceful entities who nurture plants and trees in forests, but they will rise up to defend themselves and nature when they are threatened, and use magic to summon thorny vines against their assailants. They are often seen communing with nature, and are allies of druids and a few other mages.

A Manhandla is a large, carnivorous flowering plant that grows in rainforests and jungles. It consists of a single, massive bulb covered in serrated-edged leaves, and has up to four stalks that rise out of it. Each stalk is tipped with a spotted red flower that hides a set of sharp teeth. The stalks can move about independently at one another, and will quickly strike at a nearby creature, much like a snake attempting to bite someone in defense. While the stalks of a Manhandla can be severed, they will grow back within a relatively short amount of time. The only way to kill a Manhandla is to destroy the center bulb, which is easiest done with fire.

Peahats are an unusual species of plant that is capable of flight. These plants grow in hot, dry regions such as deserts, and therefore are commonly found in western Zailleon and most of Kemei, though it is possible for them to grow in more temperate climates. During the day, the Peahat unroots itself from the ground, revealing a large, bulbous formation of roots that is easily as tall as a man, and begins spinning the stiff leaves growing from its stalk in rapid circular motions, much like helicopter rotors. By doing this, it takes to the air using thermals, and remains aloft for the remainder of the day, flying in small patterns. Researchers believe that Peahats do this as a way of escaping ground-based predators, and as a way of collecting moisture from the air through unknown means. Explorers frequently use Peahats as a way of climbing or surveying areas from the air. The flight capability of the Peahat is strong enough to carry a single man effortlessly, which often requires someone to utilize a grappling hook to latch onto one. When night falls, the Peahat will return to where it had been previously rooted, and its roots once more latch to the soil.

A Treant is a powerful nature spirit that lives in large forests. These plant creatures look very much like man-shaped trees, complete with thick arms and legs, and a growth that looks vaguely like a face. They often root themselves in the ground, disguising themselves as large trees, but can quickly uproot themselves and move about on two to four legs. They are durable creatures, and wield impressive strength, and utilize nature magic against enemies, often causing thorned roots to burst from the ground to pin their enemies. Treants are often seen aiding Dryads in the forest, but are incapable of communicating through speech.

An Une is a poisonous, vine-like weed that can grow in a variety of different places. Unes generally grow in grassy, forested regions, but have been known to pop up between stones in old ruins and abandoned buildings. They tend to retract into the ground for the duration of the day, and spring out with a series of writhing vines when approached by a living creature as a means of defense. Each vine can deliver a poisonous sting, but the poison is generally non-fatal and only cause irritated rashes on skin where its contacted. They respond well to fluids, but upon ingesting a certain amount of blood, an Une may blossom into a large, beautiful and deadly flower known as the Alura Une.
