Unfortunately, DS, now you're just looking for ways to bait me, and I've realized it. You can stop now.
Once again. The job apps for money has already been decided against, so I'm gonna ask you once more to please stop bringing it up.
Meanwhile, what employment areas will we be having in this board?

DS, Risk, while you two are technically being civil, you are getting off topic. Right now, though, since we've agreed to at least try out a trial run for Risk's idea, we can consider this matter concluded. When we're done with the trial, then we can come back to discuss it.
New topic: Ideas for the employment that Risk is asking for.

I'll quit posting here until whatever happens goes down, seeing as I'm still not in support.

Yes but you're refraining so you don't feel the wrath of RD. xD
Anyway.
Obviously the stable. Here's some more ideas:
Blacksmith (armor and weaponry shop) Inn Pawn Shop Clothing Shop Market Restaurant Fortune Teller
That's what I could come up with for now. =)

oh, and maybe a material shop in the item shop section.
for the players who would rather craft their own instead of enlisting others.

I would probably suggest making that a thread mostly.
to save clutter space in the front, make a thread for your shop, and role play would take place with the shopkeeper within the shop.
but...I have to ask..
wouldn't it also complicate things to have RP's bleed from thread to thread? these things work better when they're self-contained. everything should be in one basket, and not need to reach into other people's.

Unfortunately, forum based RP works that way. It all bleeds into different threads, and there's no way around it really.
I don't think a single thread for one shop would be a good idea. It seems like that would get messy really fast when more than one person wanted to enter at a time.

I could probably crunch my brain and think of a way to work it, but I've got some home-based stress going on. I'll toss some ideas another day.

Gunsmith, mechanic shop, technology store, black market venders, assassination services, mercenaries (Hire them for a thread/post, and they fight for you), banks, vaults, bookstores, drug stores (medicine and the like), transportation companies (airlines, trains, trucks), houses, brothels
Also, maybe Casinos? Find some free online poker "gamble" in character. Just a thought.

Actual online gambling might piss off ProBoards, though, so I wouldn't risk it. They've already given me one warning for actions taken on this forum.

it could be done over a completely separate client, and an RP role, something akin to a referee or witness, could be given to someone whom is known for their fair and impartial behavior to supervise.
just one idea. proboards doesn't want REAL gambling to occur, for actual money, because it's a potentially illegal activity. I'm sure they don't care about people roleplaying and then going onto play a multiplayer game.
EDIT: yahoo pool is one option. it not only has matchmaking, but has a spectator seat if memory serves.

That could actually be pretty cool. Also, RD, just for my own curiosity, what was the warning for?

Morphman posted a list of places where we could torrent or stream anime episodes for our viewing pleasure, just as he did back on Project Epsilon. Shortly afterwards, I got a PM from ProBoards saying I had to remove the thread or they would completely shut down the site. So I had Morph remove the thread and check Epsilon for a similar warning, because while Epsilon is defunct, I don't want to lose access to it.
