The Paragon of Stamaria
In the ever expanding Stamarian Military, there are those who have distinguished themselves above the rest, as is the Stamarian way. The world is only fit to be ruled by the greatest that mankind has to offer, and consequently it must be taken over by those befit for the task. Only a handful of men and women are chosen by Stamarian Command to serve their Empire in the highest form, but those who are represent the greatest efforts from across the planet. These men and women have become known as the Paragon of Stamaria, the strongest hands ever to fight for the cause.
The Paragon of Stamaria is a widely renowned group of soldiers consisting only in the highest tiers and forming a single unit. While many have argued that these men and women should be scattered across all Stamarian efforts to increase effectiveness on all fronts, Stamarian Command has chosen to dedicate them to their own missions, assaults, and causes. Because of this, they have both grown in fame and infamy alike, representing a great hope for Stamaria, and a great fear for all of her enemies.
In times of desperation, the Paragon are the greatest reserve and the strongest resolve, capable of single-handedly turning the tide of a battle through head to head assault or perhaps by more subtle operations. However, in times of standard domination that the Stamarians know so comfortably well, the Paragon often handle many of what are considered to be difficult assaults in clearing areas and capturing territory.
Perhaps the one area they lack in, though, is spreading the all-important Stamarian hegemony to conquered towns and cities alike. Indeed, the Paragon of Stamaria has proved perhaps too efficient to excel in this area, and it is largely known among the enemies as a group without morality or soul, raising every structure in an area to the ground and leaving no soul living in the wake of their destruction. Unless expressly ordered otherwise, the Paragon can be expected to exterminate any individual, man, woman, or child, in the area by the time the mission has been successfully accomplished.
They are men of steel resolve, accepting completely the doctrinal values of Stamaria and believing fully that anything that veers from it is not worthy of continued existence. While many express sorrow in the need for their actions, little has been shown to prove that they actually feel any true remorse for their brutal efficiency, much less any desire to stop.
The Paragon of Stamaria is considered mutually separate from the rest of the military, and it receives orders only from the highest in Stamaria. Within its ranks, the structure is changed to best reflect their values, situating any new recruit, regardless of previous status, at the bottom of the chain. Ranks are determined by the commanding officers at the end of each missions, and can be better thought of as a competition than standard military form. Should a Paragon member be asked to serve outside the squad for any period of time, he will be temporarily assigned a standard military rank befitting the operation, often reflecting very highly of their position.
As a whole, the Paragon is widely hated amongst the Korin and any other enemies at hand. They are thought of as a larger threat than most high-ranking officers of Stamaria and often receive the greatest attention when they are known to be in an area, whether that is clearing it or attacking them. For Stamaria, though, they are a symbol of hope and resolve both for the military and civilians alike, receiving a large amount of respect universally by their allies.
