The Grand Library:
Toward the center of the Sophus Grounds in the heart of Minervum, the Grand Library can be seen from many places on even the lower levels in the city. The library traffics all types of knowledge, be it practical guides, historical readings, and even just novels. While everything is read before it is stored in the library, those responsible for the works make no effort to mask the input or output of knowledge in the library. Because of this, even some of the less conspicuous Korin will make their way to the library for their needs. The Order Philosophis Minerva are under a section of the Taron Magi and therefore have responsibility to the Stamarian empire, but they do not let their side of the war affect the treatment toward those using the library or toward the knowledge stored in it.
Millions upon millions of data holders can be found here, ranging anywhere from books to scrolls to computerized record crystals for conserving vast amounts of information at once. The rarer things get, the deeper they are in their respective section, and each piece of information contains a class level based on importance and rarity; the higher levels require a form be submitted to retrieve this information, and all medium and high level classes may not be removed from the library.
The wish to keep most of the knowledge in the library is not extraordinarily problematic for most individuals, and inside the Grand Library there is a certain level of commerce. Food and drink can be purchased here, and huge rooms are set aside for reading in peace. Application forms for private rooms can be submitted and processed within minutes, allowing more heavy research and working to take place in the library. All information is kept in computer format as well as in hard copies, and using the library’s computers can allow individuals to search through books in seconds if they’re looking for specific topics.
The Grand Library is a haven for most people, the quiet atmosphere and the warming fires being an inviting place for those who wish to idly spend away an afternoon poring over knowledge, and many come simply for the view over the city from the higher towers of the library. The Taron Magi use their own library very consistently, and some items are allowed access only to one of them.
