Was prompted to write about my ideal man following the structure and rhyme scheme of a Shakespearean sonnet. Here ya go.
Gentle as a mother’s prayer His words are kind and tender. He gives a love so right and rare I know it’ll last forever.
He holds me close beside him As if he won’t release, As if I’d leave upon a whim And my heart would be at peace.
He listens without taunting. He lets me speak my mind. He knows my memories are still haunting But helps me leave my fears behind.
I’ll never find another with a love so strong and true I’ll only ever see you my love, only you.
