Guild Name: Order of the Silver Star
Members: Darklighter, Sturm, Mr. Black, Rain, Vulcan (Some are still in creation)
Headquarters: Razortooth
Recruitment: The OSS wants members who are discrete. Gunmen are preferred because of the range of firearms, and the ability to retreat quickly after firing, unlike swordsman who must flee the immediate area. Guns also require less mass to use, allowing them to be smaller. Smaller members can squeeze into areas where bulky swordsmen could not. Magic users are usually allowed, just so long as the can be quiet. Recently, guerilla fighters, swordsman, and magic users, and random fighters are now being admitted.
To join, the potential assassin must first find a member to sponsor his entrance. To gain sponsorship, the recruit must follow the member from afar, gather intelligence about him, and eventually put the man into a position where he could easily be killed. This shows that the recruit has some skill in his art. Once the recruit has confronted the assassin, the assassin will read the information, grade how through it is, and if he approves, give the mark of sponsorship (a smooth red coin). Once the recruit has the coin, he is the assistant to his sponsor. The recruit (now called a Whisper) must do anything the assassin wishes. The sponsor must train the Whisper, teaching him the art of assassination. At this time, the Whisper cannot perform assassinations on his own; he must be with an assassin. Shadows cannot sponsor people, just member Spectre and up. After the three months of apprenticeship is up, the Whisper is now a Shadow rank, and can now perform hits on his own. He answers to his sponsor until he is promoted to a higher rank.
There is also a second way to join- With the new addition of guerilla soldiers, recruits can also go straight to Razortooth, and go through the intense boot camp, pumping out battle ready Shadows. If the newly trained Shadow wishes, he may join a guerilla group, or go through the traditional apprentice style of training. But most people recently have taken the easier way, just going straight into a guerilla group.
Third and final way- Those born in the town of Razortooth are automatically given some position, based on qualifications as an assassin or soldier. The minimum age required is 16.
The Ranks:
1. Reaper- The top rank is the is the “Reaper.” The Reaper performs the most important assassinations. The Reaper has control of what assassinations are accepted, and who may perform them. He has some control of the way the guild runs, but he must consult the next rank down, Phantoms, for any major changes. He is involved with the biggest, most important jobs, along with guild administration. He also deals with the Ymaggion staff, quieting them down, or working with them against common enemies.
2. Phantoms- The Phantoms are the left and right hands of the Reaper, performing important jobs and assisting Reaper. There can only be two Phantoms at any given time. Often, one accompanies the Reaper.
3. Spectres- Spectres are the primary assassins in the guild. They are cleared for mid range hits and can take independent assignments. They report to Phantoms, and are part of the general forces of the Order. Most tend to work in small groups, acting as guerilla forces. Think squad leaders in the military, or blue elites in Halo.
4. Ghost- Ghosts are assassins in training. They have some skills in assassination, and are able guerilla fighters. Mostly, they work under a Spectre or Phantom. However, some can work independently, but are closely monitored by another member.
5. Shadow- The Shadow is an apprentice rank, for those still learning how to operate as assassins and unconventional warfare operators. They always work under a Spectre, or even some experienced Ghosts. Occasionally, they will get a very minor independent job. They Typically work with their sponsor
6. Whisper- The lowest rank, and must work with their sponsor.
The Silent Fourteen- Darklighter’s Personal Elite Guard and top assassins. To join the Fourteen, one must prove themselves as exceptional soldiers, assassins, and must be fanatically loyal to the Order.
To advance in rank, the member must fight one on one with a Phantom. To advance to Phantom, the assassin must fight with the Giant Earth Temple badger.
Perks: All members are given a PEHD V2, like Darklighter’s. They also receive an Operator Darkness Handgun, an enchanted Colt M1911. Members may also take regular weapons from the Locker, such as-
• Assault Rifles, like AK-47’s, M16’s, and SA-80’s.
• Pistols- Desert Eagles, M9’s, Glocks, Colt M1911’s
• Swords- Katana, rapier, broadsword, short swords
• Knives- Ka-bars, throwing knives.
• Explosives- grenades, C4, napalm grenades
• Heavy weapons- Flame Throwers, rocket launchers, Grenade launchers.
Suits- All members receive a nice, well-made black suit and white shirt.
Guild History:
The Order of the Silver Star was founded hundreds of years ago, before any of the major governments came to power. An ancient assassin started to organize the mass of trained killers into one unified body, hidden away to protect the secret arts of assassination and espionage. The organization followed the “Code of Starlight,” the founding assassin’s personal manifesto on assassination techniques and protocols. The Code of Starlight quickly became something similar to a bible among the assassins, and the ancient assassin became known as “The Dark Reaper.”
The Dark Reaper (also known as Mr. Black) led the assassins’ guild for several hundred years, until a new man by the name of Sturm came to the guild. Sturm quickly rose to the rank of Phantom, and became Black’s favored assassin and a protégé, of sorts. After several years of being second in command, Sturm grew power hungry, and contracted a former Stamarian soldier turned arms manufacturer to kill Black. After a supposed success, Sturm took control of the guild and gave the hitman a position in the Order, as his number one assassin. However, Sturm attempted to assassinate one of the highest-ranking Stamarian Generals, but failed miserably. Sturm was captured and jailed, leaving Darklighter (Sturm’s assassin) as the head of the guild. Darklighter quickly decided to leave Sturm to rot in prison, and to focus on bettering the guild. This caused a small civil war between those still loyal to Sturm, and those following Darklighter. This became known as the Assassins’ Schism.
After the Schism, Darklighter retook the guild, and has led it to prosperity for many years since. However, as of recently, the Order has been having several issues with the Order of the Blade, which has led Darklighter to create a special group of Assassins and guerilla soldiers, known as the Silent Fourteen. The Fourteen are now working on infiltrating the Order of the Blade and taking it down from the inside out.
